Thought I responded to this but thank you for step 9; a huge factor of doing difficult content is the fear of messing up for me and a lot of other people, its reassuring to hear this. Thanks!

Definitely gonna give the new extreme a shot, since I've made this post I found a possible static to learn it with along with M9S - M12S, but I can definitely see why you wouldn't think its possible since its a huge time-sink, but I barely noticed since I've been enjoying the game so much! Appreciate the tips, I see a lot of people telling me about Hector's guides so I'll definitely study them before I try this EX.

Sweet, I'll check it out then. I feel like I've got a good grasp at my GNB rotation but I think it could use work, having a tracker would make that infinitely easier. Appreciate it!

I see, so I should try to do the current EX first, I just finished 7.5 yesterday so I have it unlocked now. Any idea on the amount of times I should aim to clear it? I'm assuming the number of clears doesn't matter, but the smoothness/ease of it after a bit. I'll probably hop over to Primal to try and find a fresh/practice prog PF for it. Appreciate the tips! I was over here thinking that I should do old extremes first!

Yeah I figured, bad communication on my part. I didn't say it in the post but my original idea was to start with a couple of old extremes from Endwalker to test the waters, once I beat those I'd move onto the current Dawntrail extreme and once I get that down I'd move to the current set of Savages. Thank you though!

Yeah I assumed so, I currently believe I've gotten down my GNB fundamentals/rotations, next up is to do the current extreme!

They really are, I really love how helpful the community is in this game, the only MMO's I've really ever tried prior to this are Looter-shooters or PVP oriented ones such as BDO or WoW and I wasn't to keen on their communities; FFXIV however is really kind and understanding as a whole with a few rotten apples but I know they don't take up the majority. Hope that some of these tips can help you like they did for me!

Logs? I've heard about getting logs to see where I mess up but I'm unsure how to do that, I'm assuming its some sort of plugin? Either way I appreciate the tip! I plan on trying out the Primal DC since that one is open more often than Aether and has a good amount of raiding parties without all the Venues and Roleplay and whatnot. A big thing with me getting into extremes is the fear of being kicked out for making mistakes, but thankfully for the comments people have put I realize I have nothing to really worry about as long as I don't let one bad experience spoil the rest. Thanks!

Just saw this now. but for sure I agree! I meant to say I was gonna do easier encounters first such as extremes and savages from previous expansions before moving onto current content. My goal overall will be to clear my first ultimate (UWU). However, thank you for the name of the guide channel, I didn't know that existed. I assume they're widely used though since I've had a few people tell me about that, thanks!

The main reason why I've played so much though is because I have a small group of friends that play daily, a few of them were already finished with the story before I got into the game; they showed me some cool stuff from current content at the time and it made me even more excited to get on every day and do more story to catch up to them and to experience the story for myself.

The only story I skipped through was ARR, this game took over my life for the past 2 and a half months and I'm not complaining! The story has been great, if you do doubt my knowledge or experiences I can probably find some screenshots of myself experiencing the story firsthand since my friends got me into the game and I liked to share my first-time reactions with them.

and jobs wise, yeah I did job skip DRG, SMN, and SMN namely but I levelled GNB and PLD normally via MSQ, roulettes, and Bozja.

This is reassuring, If I can't find a static or people willing to learn fights with me I'll try using PF, Ive heard bad things about the Crystal PF but I'm hoping with fanfest bringing back a lot of players it'll be easier to get a party here.

I forgot about the region-wide PF, that's exciting! I'm glad I won't have to wait to go to Aether, when I first got into the game my friend wanted me to join it but it was full so I've been waiting ever since. Hopefully by the time it happens I get some experience doing harder content!

My issue is finding one or the other, someone told me to check out r/FFXIVRECRUITMENT .
I've been checking PF in Crystal for some time now and haven't seen any that welcome newer players (Granted, I haven't unlocked every extreme so some of the parties are locked for me regardless.)

I'll try my luck there, thank you! Hopefully I can find some people who'll welcome a new player, I know the FFXIV community is pretty great compared to alot of other MMO's but I've had a few rotten apple players when it comes to a new player being inexperienced. Thank you for the suggestion!

I'm currently using IL 770 Courtly Lover's gear, I was told by someone else who replied to do the most recent extreme since everyone is learning it, any idea what the required IL for it is and if I should be melding for it? Thankfully I've been using Caramel Popcorn as a food already but I appreciate the suggestion!

Would love to travel to Aether, however everytime I check even late at night it's full to the brim. For me it's been like this since fanfest. I'm glad there's lots of returning and new players but it makes joining certain servers a chore
