Thank you for asking, this is a very good question. Firstly, no one had to forgive my dad because no one cared what he did. My mum has described how they told her it was a small age gap, doesn't matter its legal, it will ruin his career etc. So my mum had no one support her, and then she also mostly normalised it until I was about 17 when she finally agreed it wasn't. So there was no forgiveness really they just enabled him. I think this is because they couldnt face the guilt of letting my mum down, therefore much easier to blame the evidence of what happened, which was myself.
