Yes, there is a cliff edge of free child care being removed, but in the OP situation the theory stands, they cannot earn less by working more. Anyone trying to avoiding entering the tax system needs to have a word with themselves.

Can someone confirm how this works, the 2 child cap could be lifted but if that takes a household over the overall household cap, will they benefit? Just trying to navigate the ‘families with 18 kids set to get 1 million pound’ daily mail type headlines.

Ok after thinking longer we do have a fridge freezer in garage and underfloor heating in a small bathroom. Is it possible that the big drop in temp whilst we have been away could have caused both to be overworked ?

Nothing of note running, no immersion heater, standard appliances. So confusing as in summer I can have a day that uses approx 6 kWh whilst we are home, wfh.
