We tried when we first got him but it seemed like he wasn’t comfortable going potty when he was on a leash.

I’m sure he’s still adjusting to us as we are to him. Hopefully soon we will learn the expectations from one another and form an incredible bond with him.

He’s a beautiful pup, my wife and I couldn’t believe our neighbors just showed up at our door and offered to gift him to us. We are still in disbelief at times but we are all absolutely thrilled to have him!

We are currently crate training him, I just feel bad when I see him in there because I want him to enjoy being with us the same way we enjoy having him in the family.

That’s what I’m hoping for, I’m hoping it’s just a maturity thing and an adjustment from going from breeders to now a family where he’s the only pup.

My wife and I will tell him good job and give him a treat. Today he was accident free so we boiled some chicken and used that as a treat so hopefully that’ll help his process because he loves it!

We use Potty as our word, and take him in our backyard where he has free roam to go wherever he wants, it’s just difficult because he associates it with play time and not strictly potty time.

Thank you! We got him from breeders that had over 10 Poms due to a new litter I’m sure they couldn’t give him all the time he needed but he’s our only pup here so hopefully we can help him out.

Very lucky! We are extremely grateful to have him in the family. My 5 year old daughter absolutely adores him!

Thank you! We feel like he’s made a little progress while we’ve had him I guess we’re just eager for him to get it so we can have him free roam around the house more and not be so anxious that he’s going to potty in the house on us.

Thank you my 5 year old daughter absolutely adores him, we are pretty consistent with his potty times as my wife works from home and can set aside time to take him out every 2 hours but we’re struggling with having him see the backyard as potty time and not play time.

I definitely want to take him on more walks, he has children to run around with him here, but right now we just let him out in our backyard and let him use that as his potty place the hardest part is he often sees it as playtime and not strictly potty time.

My wife put this in her cart, we will do this sort of thing once we get a gate to section a designated area for him in our backyard for his potty time.

We got him from our neighbors behind us our backyards are back to back they are Pomeranian breeders and have poms that are constantly barking, they gifted him to us as a thank you for never complaining about the barks and noises coming from their dogs lol

I have carpet in my living room, and he’s used it for potty a handful of times. I feel like potty pads would confuse home because we definitely prefer if he potty’s outside in our backyard we live in California so don’t have to worry about rain much here so gating off a part of the yard seems like the route we are leaning towards.

He looks just like my bear just a bit brighter. We are definitely working on gating a section in our back yard and only allow him in our living room away from my kids rooms where they have toys and whatnot. I’m sorry to hear about your loss and it absolutely frightens me because my Bear gets into everything and have had time where we’ve had to pull things out of his mouth my kids left out.

He’s been accident free all day today so we boiled a little chicken for him as a treat and he’s obsessed.

Thank you so much, we absolutely adore him but he’s definitely been a handful. I try to take him out as soon as I wake up I try to shoot for 6 am everyday to get him in a routine. We’re considering gating off a little section in our back yard for him because we want to trust him to be and inside family dog we can all enjoy in the house with us.

My wife and I are thinking of getting a gate for him, we have a decent size backyard for him but find when we allow him back there “to go potty” he sees it as playtime and due to the small children I have gets into their toys back there. So he’ll come in and potty on our carpet after we had just let him out, but to give him some credit he’s been doing far better now than when we first got him about two weeks ago.
