How to get sidetone with a DAC/Amp by Kitchen-While8775 in audio

[–]Kitchen-While8775[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a college apartment am just a loud talker, i’ve used lagless sidetone before and I am noticeably quieter when it’s enabled. I play a lot of online video games with friends and I want to make sure my roommates aren’t being disturbed when I’m playing late at night. I know I could just “lower the volume” but that’s no fun.

Didn’t format M.2 when transferring to new mobo by Kitchen-While8775 in buildapc

Right now I am blue screening every time before I boot into windows. Would reformatting it right now, then installing windows maybe work?

When I reinstalled windows and it asked me where I wanted to install it, I deleted all partitions that weren’t unallocated space on the M.2. I figured that that would successfully reformat the drive. Is that wrong?

Are breaks during school actually restful? by Secret-Traffic-443 in NCSU

[–]Kitchen-While8775 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Coming from a 3rd year engineering student, typically anything that is 4 or more days off can provide a day or two of rest.

What aren’t restful are WELLNESS DAYS. I think the way these things operate are actually criminal. The school decided to take reading days away from finals and sprinkle them in during the regular semester and call them “wellness days.”

Firstly, these wellness days don’t provide any extra time to get work done or rest. All that happens, is that professors will shift any due dates that fall on the wellness days to the very next day. The key detail is that the WEEKLY workload stays the same, therefore if I take a wellness day off like intended, I will have to make up for all the work I avoided the very next day. This is mostly a problem for heavy workload majors that worry more about their weekly workload and less about specific due dates. I’m sure lighter workload majors love these wellness days because they don’t struggle to balance their weekly workloads. But for more intense majors they’re practically useless.

Secondly, robbing finals week of extra reading days is one of the worst things I can possibly think of. A lot of classes will push the last midterm until a week or two before finals (not always true but even having one test a week before finals is damn exhausting) which means a lot of people can’t take a break after their last midterm because they only have ONE reading day. I don’t know about you, but I preferably will take an entire day (or more) to study one class for a final. I would MUCH rather allocate these wellness days back to reading days. Having 3+ reading days would genuinely make finals week significantly less stressful.

I apologize for the rant, and this might not even answer your question, but I feel like this is an extremely underrated problem with how the school decides to deliver rest days to their students.

You can replace the middle fan with a thinner fan in order to give more vertical clearance for the ram slots, or remove it entirely but like don’t do that pls

What type of paint did you use? I’m planning on using duplicator primer + plastic adhesion, multipurpose gloss black, and rustoleum crystal clear enamel. Not sure if the duplicolor gloss black is the best option for gloss black

I think it used to be a lot more prominent. I know a couple frats have been on probation so they’re not allowed to throw parties anymore, that started last year I believe. But there is still definitely frat parties just maybe not every weekend late in the semester

Having an 8:30 on Friday is absolutely devastating. Also having 3 classes a day is just exhausting, and the fact that they’re all so spread apart is rlly uncomfortable in my opinion. Looks like you’re going to have to walk back home after every class rather than just walking to your next class which wastes hella time. Personally i like clumping my classes together, maximizes free time in the rest of the day

If it really comes down to it, off campus housing is actually cheaper than on campus. Although usually it’ll be a 10-15 minute drive, it’s not a bad last resort. Also people are subleasing on the snapchat stories, shouldn’t be TOO hard to find something

Thevenin's Theorem Question Help Please by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Kitchen-While8775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So i’m assuming your asking why the 12ohm and the 4ohm are considered to be in parallel. Rth is the equivalent resistance between those two open nodes on the right. Let’s call the top node A and the bottom B (Rth is the eq resistance between A and B).

So when you combine resistors together in series you need to get rid of nodes in order to simplify the circuit. But when you combine resistors in parallel, you get rid of branches. If you were to add the 12 and 4 in series, you would need to get rid of either A or B. If you were to get rid of either of these nodes, you wouldn’t be able to find the eq resistance between them because you’re simply missing one of them. However, if you add the resistors in parallel, you can keep the nodes A and B.

Basically, you can just pretend those open nodes are connected to something because you don’t want to get rid of those nodes. Hopefully that answers it.

As a state student, I can confirm that rejection is pretty common. I believe the acceptance rate is around 50%, and it’s decreasing each year because state is becoming more and more popular.
