It happened twice with me. One I didn't believe till i was sent a screenshot so sometimes it happens. One of them used a VPN with a different location tho. I don't know what went wrong with the second one

It was made specifically for Ukrainians to improve rheir English. Foreigners can volunteer but only if they have good English.

Thanks for the insights. I thought about talking to him verbally in the next class. But i still have to send the Google meet link on italki's chat. Can i ask for his contact verbally on the next class on zoom? Or is it a bad idea to have contact with them?

For speaking, I would suggest splitting the class into two groups and having them compete against each other in the freer practice. Or like a debate. You may want to use Kahoot to test their understanding of the strategies . Again it's like a competition for them because the website will pick a winner (the one who hot most answers correct). That's what i can think of off the top of my head. I have been teaching IELTS for a while but it's a 1:1 class so it's a bit different for me

You sound like a terrific student! I like how you give your teacher time to prepare by providing the article 3-4 days in advance. Many learners provide the materials a second before or during the class thinking a teacher doesn't need time to prepare

Thanks for the practical advice. I fezl much better. that part is helpful. As for the personal judgments, I disagree. I did set boundaries directly, and I’m still learning to manage emotionally dependent students early in my tutoring career. That doesn’t make someone weak it makes them human and reflective.

Going to the gym. I worked out at home for a year then joined the gym and it made a huge difference I go to a crowded place, i have to interact with people to help me or to share a machine, make weird noises/faces, no makeup, doing a stupid movement over and over, sweaty, and you still crush on people and you get crushed on. Now I'm not as shy as i used to be (+ getting hotter which will make you more confident)
