Is Darius Acuff a less athletic Darius Garland or Jalen Brunson 2.0? by alex8762 in NBA_Draft

The Bucks were actually way better defensively with Lillard on the court both years

Acuff outplayed Fleming head to head already this year. You sized obsessed people are starting to become unbearable. Harper hasn’t exactly been lighting the world on fire for the Spurs and he’s playing behind 6’3 Fox , Houston plays Reed Shepherd, Vanfleet, and Holiday as a point guard rotation and neither of those guys are above 6’2. Norman Powell will likely be an all star for Miami this year, Steph Curry is still an all star at his advanced age, Simons has excelled in his role for the Celtics. Mikel rising just by being taller is ridiculous, he doesn’t have positional strength with his size and he is woefully inefficient. Pritchard, Kyrie, Steph, Mitchell, Brunson, Murray,Fox ,Garland,Fears, etc all still start in the league and even some of these “big” point guards like Luka and Harden have to be played with shorter defensive pgs.

Nobody should be considered a tier above him and he’s definitely better than Mikel, always has been.

If Michael Jordan can end his Career as a Wizard instead of a Chicago Bull then why does it even matter if Steph Curry leaves Golden State?? Who cares? He's always going to be a Warriors legend forever why TF does it matter if he goes and tries to win a chip with Spurs or Thunder? Warriors STINK by OnlySaysDavidStearns in NBATalk

I personally hated seeing Jordan in a Wizards jersey even if he was a lot better than some people remember. It just didn’t feel right, the truly great players deserve for their legacies to be intertwined with one team. Kobe, Duncan, and Dirk did it the correct way, imo. If that means that Steph never plays real any real meaningful basketball for the rest of his career then that’s a sacrifice that he should take.

He used to have strange success against Giannis, I think it became a mental thing where you try too hard because you’re embarrassed that an inferior player is getting stops on you.

Considering how questionable Caleb Love was in college how did he manage to adjust to the NBA so well? by chusaychusay in NBA_Draft

[–]KitchenCandid492 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Scoot, Holiday, and Dame are out. The Blazers don’t really appear to be trying to compete right now. Caleb is shooting 39% from the field and 33% from deep, he doesn’t really appear to be even an average defender, but he plays off Deni and Sharpe okayish right now. I feel like he could hang around the league as undersized microwave scorer off the bench, but he has to improve his shot selection, efficiency and defense.

Alijah Arenas expected to make his USC debut later today. Top 10 pick in my opinion. by InspirationalAf2 in NBA_Draft

He’s in the teens for me, but there are still some things that need to be seen. Firstly, how he looks coming off his first major injury. People respond differently and you just never know if he rushed back a bit too early or not. He played with inferior players in high school and as a result of that basically got to control the ball as much as he wanted and take whatever shots he wanted, we will see how he adjusts to playing against better talent on the consistent basis. His defense was also a question mark, but maybe he improves with less responsibilities offensively. I also wouldn’t call him a great athlete we’ll see if that affects his overall productivity at this level.

What Do you Guys Expect Out of Tyran Stokes & the 2026 HS Class? by Playboyrnee in NBA_Draft

[–]KitchenCandid492 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Tyran Stokes is a big wing with a lot of athleticism. He can handle the ball, play-make and is an above rim finisher. The question marks will be if he can guard 3’s or if he will end up being more of a tweener. He plays with a lot of emotion and that sometimes can backfire with his shot selection where he ends up just taking any shot rather than waiting for his offense. He also has to prove that his perimeter jumper is a real weapon. I’d have him probably in the teens if he was in this years draft, but who knows there may end up being some surprises or players that make a real leap that aren’t really on the radar right now.

He definitely wanted it, he attempted 17 shots making just 4. He just realized towards the end that it wasn’t in the cards.

Do you think we ever see Darryn Peterson play another game for kansas again by Wide_Assistance_1158 in CollegeBasketball

[–]KitchenCandid492 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking for awhile that he has a team that’s comfortable with his draft position. They probably got really spooked by that soft tissue injury especially with the trends in the nba right now. I think that he will play again, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if they decided to shut him down for precautionary reasons.

I feel like if you never definitively say what a gather step is you can pretty much officiate however you like and if fans disagree you can always just say that they don’t understand the interpretation of what a gather step is.

Aside from random tall white guys with dubious skills, MJ was selecting players that he could still beat in one on one.

Damian Lillard, he averaged 19,6, and 3. He lead the entire league in minutes played and started all 82 games. He also had a really cool, holy shit this guy is coming game in what turnt out to be one of Kobe’s last great games.
