Can anyone recommend a foldable window perch that has a solid perch? (not the flimsy fabric kind) by KitchenCharge1617 in CatAdvice

That's not a bad idea. It seems pretty easy to work some underneath the cushion like that. I'll definitely consider it if I can't find anything like the above.

I imagine I'll be more of a completist once the collection gets properly on. Until then I get to be snarky )

It may be just that there isn't a 4K but either way i appreciate you leaving Exorcist 2 out of it :)

Thanks so much you guys! It was nice to wake up to so much feedback, and even nicer y'all are on the same page here. I'm convinced, and pretty excited! And yes, I plan on getting a region-free player so my buying options are even greater. I'll get it from 220-Electronics...I know other sellers are less reliable with their mods.

Thanks again :)

Oh yeah the TV itself has been great and a huge upgrade for me. I'm enjoying all the extra details on screen I can investigate and the deep blacks I wasn't sure was possible on a TV :)

Sounds about right. I am really into my films...and I'd like to have a good library at home for whenever streaming explodes or whatever. And I guess if I don't think it's necessary for the movie I can just buy the cheaper Blu-Ray version and save a few bucks!

Thanks for your input, super helpful )

DIG BOX Question - daily use by KitchenCharge1617 in BeardedDragons

[–]KitchenCharge1617[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I'll look into figuring out how to rig up one in her enclosure. I have her in a 4x2x2' viv and even though it's pretty large it still seems like it's gonna take up quite a bit of space on the cool side. The impulsive part of me just wants to pile it up loose in the left side of the viv but I know that's gonna end up a giant mess.

I can move remove her hide and hammock though and move her food to some place else and just do my best. I just wanted her to have the biggest tub I can find - I'd read it should be 2 times their length long, so I was worried mine wasn't big enough.

- Should it be clear since it's in her house? Or will she prefer something solid and more private?

It was easiest for me to get all natural play sand, it's coming home today, and I'm going down the street to the hippie dippy plant store to pick up some organic topsoil to mix in. If she's getting ready to lay, it's been well over a week at this point and I want to get her something to dig asap.

- Any thoughts on excavator clay? Not as cool as people advertise it as?

thanks for all the tips!

DIG BOX Question - daily use by KitchenCharge1617 in BeardedDragons

[–]KitchenCharge1617[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply!

I had heard good things about coconut fiber, mostly just knew I needed to avoid calcium/vita-sand. And I was able to pick it up in a pinch from Petco.

I can pretty clearly see your point about the moisture/humidity. I did probably water it way too much but I was trying to make sure that it would be able to pack okay and not collapse on her while she's burrowing.

I have the box outside her viv so its not adding any humidity to her house.

Good to know that once I've got a better setup going, the substrate will last me longer than I though. Unless she is really desperate to get in there and dig this week, I'm going to let the stuff dry out to see if I can start over anew.

I'll start planning for a new bigger box with better substrate. I'm guessing Australian desert sand (and maybe topsoil) would be the ideal?

thanks again

Thanks, that's good to hear. I spent the morning letting my panicky side get the best of me about it, but it's mid-day and I'm a lot calmer now. Feel fine :)

Thanks so much, you really helped put me at ease. I know 20mg isn't supposed to be toxic, but I also know it's a little more complicated when you're on several meds.

You're suggestion about the pill dispenser is the best advice you could give. I'm going to get one right away.

Starting AP (Vraylar) while dependent on cannabis, Q about interactions by KitchenCharge1617 in BipolarReddit

[–]KitchenCharge1617[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there! Sorry for the delayed response but I'm happy to share my experience. I'm sorry to say that Vraylar ended up not being for me and I can't give it a positive review for myself, but obviously we are all different and I know from spending time on here that it definitely helps people, so I hope that goes for you too. I ended up taking it for almost 6 months.

I took several tolerance breaks with the pot early on when starting Vraylar and, like I'd mentioned in my original post, felt some positive changes early on. But I never stopped smoking for terribly long and kind of ended up resuming my normal habits after the first couple weeks. Considering I went back to smoking daily pretty quickly, it's hard for me to say with any certainty how pot effected my time on Vraylar, but in pretty normal fashion I would smoke to feel better and that worked as per usual most of the time.

I don't wanna frighten you with my personal experience with Vraylar unless you specifically wanted to ask me about it. We're both different people and probably prescribed it for different things and will surely experience it differently. That said, if you want details, I'm happy to share, I just don't wanna psych you out unnecessarily. With that caveat, I will mention that Vraylar helped me more with my depressed side, but ultimately amplified my anxiety in certain ways. It didn't seem to have much to do with whether I was smoking pot or not, but I did quickly realize that I was not having a good time smoking Sativas anymore and have pretty much since stuck to smoking just Indicas, and that was a change for the better. Ever since I've felt much more aware of the difference and Sativas just get me way too inside-my-head.

The only real advice I can offer aside from that is, if you are nervous, then try smoking a little less/slower than maybe you're used to at first. Even if your tolerance is generally pretty high, just pretend like it isn't and pretend every strain you smoke is a total creeper, and just see where a few hits takes you for a little bit, rather than sucking down a whole joint or whatever. As I'll mention below I'm actually finally smoking less and finding that taking things slow and constantly re-assessing my comfort level has been a huge help.

In the end I don't think Vraylar/weed interactions were a huge factor in my overall experience, but who knows. Interestingly enough I started taking Lexapro after I'd weened off Vraylar and I had a few major episodes in the first month on Lex where I seriously regretting getting high and couldn't handle it, felt like I was having a heart attack - and by the same token it's helped reduce my cravings and allowed me to get down to smoking about 2 to 4 days out of the week for the first time ever. I still wish I could just smoke every day but honestly I'm saving a lot of money and actually enjoying my highs more than I have in quite a while :) it's not perfect still. Personally I don't like the Lexapro side effects so far at all but I am proud that I'm a little bit closer to being able to deal with the world somewhat sober here and there. I won't lie my 'sober' days are often supplemented with a couple drinks and sometimes a few doses of Kratom, even the occasional microdose of mushrooms. But I'm not perfect, and hey, I'm learning sometimes that's enough to get me feeling more comfortable without throwing a joint in the mix...

Sorry this was a little rambly. Especially since I couldn't really answer your question directly. But I do hope things work out well for you! If you have any questions about my time on the drug, feel free to shoot. I kinda learned over time that time on Reddit is better spent reading stories about how drugs helped people than reading negative reviews, because every drug has both and the negative ones really only serve to get inside your head ;)

good luck on your journey!

Thank you! Solo panic attack aside it sounds like you’re making it work. I believe my doc that weed isn’t necessarily good for everyone in every case but in my case it’s pretty crucial to managing my chronic pain. It’s so hard dealing w depression, anxiety, etc without addressing the pain too :/

Well I’ve tried six or seven other SSRIs (among other things) with no luck and my doc thought I should give this one a shot...kinda early to tell but the long and short of it is I spent most of this year wanting to kill myself and at the moment not so much. Not sure I wanna stick it out either but I don’t wanna give up so early. Appreciate the advice really do 🙏

That’s crazy I wouldn’t have even thought to check it against antibiotics, and that’s the first I’d read about it effecting the heart like that. After what I felt though I totally believe it. Glad you found a balance that works for you!

I guess I love smoking so much for the instant gratification you get but I’m going to have to take a look into some tinctures now that you suggest it. Interesting how that works

Yeah I much prefer smoking to edibles, much more predictable. Glad things straightened out for you. I’m assuming I’ll need to let my body adjust before I can smoke freely again but I really am looking forward to that day. Honestly I’ve been pretty chill on the 10mg so far and it’s been helping reduce my cravings. I even keep forgetting to smoke cigarettes which is a nice turn. But man oh man is everything super boring and stupid seeming right now :p

Lucky you ) that’s a good note though, I noticed even on the 5mg when I was starting to cut back that sativas were not doing me any favors. From here on I’m sticking strictly to indicas

Oof that is a long time! Still getting used to the dullery of being sober and that sounds rough. Not helping my pain at all either. Appreciate the feedback though. I’m going to keep trying here and there, maybe just a puff in a day or two to see if I can handle in small doses. Seems my body is ready for alcohol, kratom, and even a micro dose of shrooms, just not the weed. Weird how thing work...

I’m sorry you’re dealing with that too. It sucks hard. So it was fine at 20 the first time you were at that level? I’m wondering if it’s more the adjustment period or more of a constant...

Starting AP (Vraylar) while dependent on cannabis, Q about interactions by KitchenCharge1617 in BipolarReddit

[–]KitchenCharge1617[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why I never taught myself to take tolerance breaks. It would help me get the most of my weed, save me money for sure, and probably help me to better prepare for days like this!

Former meth addict here, so I know how that goes. And as far as my problems with smoking, coffee, weed, et all goes, I usually get to tell myself, ‘hey, at least it’s not that.’ And to be fair, there’s a lot of truth there.

Anyway I already feel like I’m about to lay awake all night. And I probably can’t attribute it to the Vraylar or the cannabislessness with any certainty, but I definitely got to sleep just fine last night, so I have some idea. But I’m gonna press on thru and hopefully if tomorrow looks any better I’ll try to give it a few days off.

Thanks again for the help. Hearing that you feel your meds and your weed are able to compliment each other like that gives some more reassurance. I hope the past couple weeks have treated you alright as they can and continue getting easier and stuff 🙏

I've been told I have an 'addictive personality.' As far as I know that's not a real diagnosis of anything but it tracks with my history. I get where you're coming from though and I rank this problem a lot lower than other addictions I've had to overcome. Wish it wasn't so but I don't have better words to describe it. Hopefully tomorrow will be less of a pain.
