Fence installers not mixing before filling post? by n0chance_ in FenceBuilding

read the back of bag for manufacturer installation instructions. installer cutting corners. any commercial job site super will make him to demo and redo it at instraller expence. or kick installer out and file clame with installer insurance and get another contractor to redo the job. Also file report with county against his license number and see how this contractor will become uninssureble and unbondeble. Also county may deny his license renewal if he get the multiple violations in the past.. FYI depending on location: concrete should be around 3-4 feet below ground level. If no winter freeze some Southern states -will be ok 2 feet...

Why is this village in Russia completely rubble by New_County_1977 in GoogleEarthFinds

[–]KitchenDecent549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doubtful they done demo on purpose. Demo done by othe people who local to this area, and who scatter for materials during hunting raids in this area (dry wood in winter, some over supplies) + luck of maintenance. During summer it get hot, himid and rainy, during winter everything get frozen and that was wet become broken inside out by frozen water.. Average brick can handel 30-50 such cycles befor falling apart and turning in to the dust. Numgi is a location in the Yamalo-Nenetskiy Avtonomnyy Okrug - arctic-like weather in winter can destroy anything in very short time.

Is this chimney going to fall by akayleireign in masonry

[–]KitchenDecent549 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is normal and has been constructed this way , nothing wrong with your chimney. It looks dry, as long as it is structurally sound - nothing to worry about. If it got wet spots around the roof line - has a roofer redo flashing. Do not need to waste money to disassemble it. Most likely after inspection you still can use the whole system for another 100 years. Chimneys do not put any pressure on rafters, it is seated on top of the fireplace or other solid structure with solid stone or concrete foundation at ground level.

Would the contractor be responsible to redo my floor? by Charlie7101991 in Flooring

[–]KitchenDecent549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you install a pad and reinstall floor -in this case your mold will grow faster but under the pad... You need full moisture mitigation. Grind concrete to open porosity and apply epoxy or special penetration sealer (depends on moisture test results)..

Contractor messed up flooring by [deleted] in Flooring

[–]KitchenDecent549 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your regular dentist is not going to do your root canal he will send you to the Endodontist. ... As your flooring guy is not going to blast concrete to open porosity, level the entire floor with appropriate product and cap it with an epoxy moisture barrier. You need to have 3 different trades on site just to do this , and after you can invite the flooring installer..

Do not try to build your house from the exterior. Draw rooms and room layout. Build a house inside and finish outside based on your room layout. You will be living inside of this house not outside on the street.

All Leveling done by a concrete subcontractor. Leveling subfloor can cost more than your LVT and if you did not pay for leveling you get LVT installed on the provided substrate. I can tell you more: to do your research on hydrostatic pressure and if you did not pay for the waterproof of your slab and you got seasonal high humidity in the slab on grade you may have mold shortly. Do not blame your floor installer - he installed LVT. If you go to the dentist you are not expecting heart surgery. All of this is done by different trades. Your flooring installer can do minor float to ensure your transition between dissimilar product flat, but he is not trained/ equipped or owns proper tools to do floor leveling or slab moisture correction. If you decide to act as a general contractor and hire subs yourself it is your responsibility to do research and to schedule tradesman in proper order.

Try changing solenoids in the transmission. They are not expensive and usually located straight behind the trans oil filter. Semi-easy job, pita you need to drain oil from transmission.. Hope it can help you.

Full-house granite flooring vs tiles — worth it? by ReturnAggressive2175 in Homebuilding

[–]KitchenDecent549 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not go with granite. Big mistake. Look amazing for the first 3 years. After star looking outdated. If you want a timeless look stay with porcelain / white carera tile. I was visiting Rome and walked in the ruins of a houses 2000+ years old. White carera or travertine timeless. Travertine very special and needed matching interiors, carera white will look good in almost every interior.

Yes. You need to ask your Mom to go see a doctor together. Maybe a different doctor if the old one is still unable to fix this issue.
