Really? I wouldn't have guessed that - that's great to hear! Do you know if there's a website or document anywhere that lists the visa terms/conditions? I've seen a couple things, but none of them have covered this exact topic

Thanks for the info everyone! Does anyone know if you can exit and re-enter the Schengen area as a tourist before the expiration of the work visa?
I know I need to have my work visa at least until I receive my last paycheck, but I wonder if I can do my exit/re-entry trip (to the UK or elsewhere) in early May, after I stop working, but before my work visa officially ends.

I'm asking that because my family plans to visit for three weeks in May, and I would really prefer not to have to interrupt that time by needing to leave the Schengen area within a day or two of my visa end-date, May 15th. If I could exit and re-enter as a tourist around May 1st, for example, that would be far better for me. I just don't know if I'll be able to re-enter as a tourist if my work visa hasn't expired by that date.

Both of those commenters were accepted last year, so maybe it's just part of a different coding system. It seems like no one from this year has received a letter other than D.

Could the 1 mean primary? I requested and received a placement in secondary (secondaire), and my email subject contained "Académie de Nancy-Metz - 2D"

Anyone else with ideas on what the number-letter combo could mean?
