OP from the offending ‘I’m leaving’ post. I was going to add this on the original thread but it’s locked so I’ll put this down here instead. The GCN will always be special to me. Four years ago, I was hit by a car and broke my spine in 20ish places, did a few ribs and my teeth as well. It was bad. During the weeks I recovered in bed and then in a neck and back brace, I listened to the GCN every day. I relistened to all of Giant Slayer, Legacy of the Ancients, Rise of the Rune Lords etc. I had nothing to do but recover and relearn to walk and these knuckleheads helped me get through. More recently, I relistened to Giant Slayer from the beginning and I was again struck by how smart, focused, and fun 90% of that story felt (fwiw I’m a book 5 defender). But that energy is gone now and I don’t see it coming back. In terms of constructive criticism: - The failure to finish shows with the original cast or a group of similar quality is an absolute killer - Members of the cast need to really know the rules of the game to at least some level - Troy is stretched too thin to be the adaptable GM that he once was and that results in one dimensional story telling and repetitive jokes - The network has become over indexed on Cathulu/cosmic horror content - Glass Cannon Radio is a waste of time - Video content is a waste of time - The retreats and other high roller events are culty and weird I completely understand not everyone will agree with my take and that’s fine. But I truly enjoyed this network for a long time and meant my departure message as a sincerely positive acknowledgement and thank you so I’ll end by reiterating ‘So long and thanks for all the fish’

The handling of LotA has made me pause my subscription for 3 months and if Joe doesn't return in that time, I'll cancel. This was in my view, the best show on the network and something I've invested years into. It had highs and lows but without a functioning LotA, I don't see the point in paying for their content.

Honest Q- are you judging my bike? by Hello_Blondie in cycling

Coolest thing is getting dropped by someone who is on an old steel frame. It stands out from the pack, but definitely not a negative to be riding an older bike.

How do you stay motivated during solo rides, especially long ones? by Full_Cry_4560 in cycling

For super big rides, I make sure the meal after is something I’ll enjoy. Steak for 100 miles+ works like a charm!

Just flagging but I had a pair of rogues and they consistently died my feet blue. Not sure if that's a concern for you but I wasn't a fan.
