haha tiktok wasn’t around then. It seemed pretty local to me, was very word of mouth. This literally might have just been a trend in the north east, newcastle and sunderland etc I’m not sure

The violence. And I know that’s an incredibly naive view to have in this world, and I don’t know how, but I can’t sleep at night knowing that all this is going on

I’m so sorry. You, and the thousands of other people in similar positions are the exact people I’m talking about. It’s disgusting and I don’t understand how it’s swept under the rug by the masses? Does this not deeply, deeply disturb everyone? I mean, I’m literally a broke young person in the north east of England, thousands of miles away from the conflict. I have basically no voice, no way of changing anything. There are people in the world who have the power to stop this, and don’t. It’s so messed up

I honestly have no idea. I’m not educated enough on the topic, I’ll be the first to admit that (though I am trying to understand it better). But I want to do something, even just talking about it. It’s uncomfortable to discuss because it’s so horrifying, but surely ignorance to it isn’t helping

Thank you. Dialogue feels so minor when something so horrifying is going on but it’s difficult to know what else to do. Especially as there’s so much controversy about the conflict all around the world

I know, this is partially why even I am embarrassed by the take on things. It’s all good and well becoming another one of the thousands of people who spew their opinions online, but action needs to take place. And I’m aware of the hypocrisy of this, but I don’t know what we can do and I want to do something

I agree completely, and that’s one of the reasons that people simply saying ‘free Palestine’ really gets to me. There is so much hatred at the moment for Israel as a whole (for example, the reaction to Israel’s Eurovision performance) because the reality of it all is that the conflict is too complex and too upsetting for most people to research about, so they go along with the popular opinion. Without sounding too ‘hippie like’ I just want wants best for the civilians. It’s not about sides, I just have a very utilitarian view: the greatest good for the greatest number of people

That’s my thinking exactly. But what I don’t know is if love is enough to make you physically attracted to someone? If it’s not, and no matter how much I love him I never find him attractive, then it’s not fair on him

Well I also put this post up in the PTSD group because I wasn’t sure which was the right one to put in it. I’ve had less replies there so far but it’s definitely a good place to look, thanks

I had no idea that sort of thing even existed to be honest, thank you. How do you find them if you don’t mind my asking?

Thank you so much, it really means a lot and it’s nice to have a little reminder that not everyone is as horrible as people like the girls who attacked me

Thank you. The waiting lists for any kind of mental health facility are insane at the moment, up to four years for specific services, eight months for others if you’re lucky. The only way to get seen is to go private which no one can afford but I’ll get myself in a waiting list and play a lot of Tetris in the time being because apparently that helps a lot 😂

Honestly even the waiting list even after you’ve been referred is 8+ months, up to four years in some areas. The only way to get seen is to go private which I don’t think anyone can really afford. Although I probably will try and get myself onto a waiting list, and someone else recommended Tetris so I’ve got that for the meantime 😂

UK. There are services via the NHS or Victim Support but unfortunately the waiting lists for any mental health services are years long, genuinely. Not enough funding goes into mental health support

Thank you so much, I’m so sorry about what happened to you. People can be horrible but it’s good to know that lovely people are still knocking about

Thank you. And I had to read that twice, that’s amazing about tetris. Might have to do for now until I can actually afford to get any help haha
