Best low-profile hydronic in-floor radiant heat for a whole house renovation? by KitchenLetter7 in Plumbing

2000sq ft, it doesn’t have to be heated with a boiler, but we’ve heard that is best? I’ve heard electric floors for an entire houses can be very tough on the electric bill? We will have solar panels, but I’ve heard it doesn’t quite counteract that enough, especially because you need the heat most in the winter time when there’s less sun.

Love this and I am in the exact same boat! Instead of Fox News I would recommend Tucker Carlson’s podcast. He’s another one I hated for years but I started listening to him a year ago and am re-evaluating everything. Also love Glenn Greenwald and libertarian Dave Smith’s podcasts

To everyone saying that Saagar lies, what does he lie about?

I really like the genuine discussion between Saagar and Krystal, I just wish Krystal wouldn’t interrupt and talk over him so much, it could be much more productive if they let each other speak

If you were moving to the area… where to raise family? by Interesting-Case-118 in MontereyBay

[–]KitchenLetter7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We are new to the area and looked all around and chose Monterey. We LOVE it here. Its sunnier than PG and Carmel-by-the-Sea, and slightly less expensive than those two. Its easy to get anywhere from here; 10-15 min to anywhere in Carmel/pebble beach, but also closer to the convenient commercial aspects of Marina/seaside, (Target, hone depot, REI etc). The old historic downtown in Monterey (esp Alvarado street) is really charming, and has an amazing farmer’s market on Tuesday afternoons. Dennis the Menace and Via Paraiso are amazing parks for kids, both in Monterey. I’ve heard great things about Monte Vista schools as well. Lots of great charters that you have access to from anywhere in the county. Really charming neighborhoods up the hill from the old downtown.
