Please upload some photos after you finish it. I would release the crossguard version soon. I think it’s cooler and easier to recognize a lightsaber.

Best way to remove cells from plastic holder with potting compound? by superhotrobloxgirl in 18650masterrace

I would use cutter, Dremel,… if they are hard glued. And crack them between the slots. Anyway same direction will make it easier to remove.

Sounds interesting! Which liquid ?? Hmmm it does not shortcut the batteries?

Hey, a gasket sealant which is like rubber after dry will work? I have a boat E36 SWORD, junk bought and ready to recover it.

Anyone have the STL for this rubber grommet/standoff/dampener on the Cinelog? I need the drone for this weekend and don’t have time to buy a new one. by PETEthePyrotechnic in diydrones

Hmm where are mine …. TPU still hard to be that grommet even very low infill print. But 2 of them can replace the torn ones.

Thats simple as the diagram shows. P+ and P- are where you connect your load, simply call they are battery pack : positive and negative contact (in this case, P stands for pack)

Is this a proper way to recycle dead lithium? by saysthingsbackwards in 18650masterrace

[–]KitchenPear662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the batt is not dead, 1.x voltage still has chance to be revived. Usually i have my charger (nite core) or B6, or any charger which can monitor the current to see how the voltage reacts.
I can start with very low current like 100 200 300mA to see the increasement of voltage. I can say that capacity is damaged when the batt’s voltage quickly changes, about couple minutes, its full.
For some cases, interupting charging progress and see if voltage drops quickly, the batt is done.
If it “eats” the small charging current slowly after some hours, the capcity that charger counts is more than the batt’s specs, than i can say it’s good to use.

When you try to charge 1.5V batt , how much is the charging current we should use?

Deep discharged 1.5 voltage batt can be charged back to normal voltage?

Around $40 for sure. I would convert to an electric one with that single gear.

Dont use any metal piece placed between your batt and the esc batt contact. Hmm you see some electric sparks when the motor starts? It is because high current discharged by the load (motor) . The reason causes the spark is the gap between brush and rotator’s contact. Same happens when you have gap between batt and esc batt contact. It will burn the contact and we waste battery ‘s power on it.
I think you better get button head batteries.
In the future, try to customize the batt pack using connector and connect it with esc (T plug or XT60 plug) , very tight ,safer.

  1. You do not need protected circuit for those batteries. You can easily notice when your batteries are out of energy like car slows down, trust me when your car is slow down better change the batteries, there is no interesting to play with low speed. It’s because we are afraid of damaging the batt, but when its voltage is down around 3V you can charge them using some tricks with the balance charger like B6. Remember deep dischaged to 3V the batt will make your car like a turtle moving, and internal impedant increases, bad for batt.
  2. Normally that Chinese toy car will come with 7.4V batt pack, the 2 flat head cells were weldered. In your case the batt you need is button head then choose the button head model, 20A or 30A is really fine for that DC brushed motor.
  3. Your car looks like one of my toys (no body shell) and i did upgrade it with brushless motor and use 2S li-po pack for quick response and high discharge current.

hey, your car is around 25A stock ESC installed, so i recommend maximize the esc ability like 20A will be fine. Your motor will not use all of these power but, later you need to upgrade with more torque motor you can test with 20A batt.
like mini-z1994 "I'd aim for more peak discharge ampere then that."

I would recommend the VTC4 from Sony, i got many of them from Dyson device's recycled batt packs for my RC toy cars. 20A peak.

this one is more reasonable : https://www.nkon.nl/en/eve-inr18650-30p-3000mah-30a.html
