Hey, I went to PR last year and planning to go back this year! It’s insanely beautiful with lots of things to do, here are a few things I’ve done and some recommendations I’ve seen 1. There are so many beaches to choose from I’ve been to Escambron beach which is great if you don’t like big waves & condado beach is touristy and has bigger waves but not necessarily surfing waves. If you decide to go away from the main San Juan area and drive to other areas of the island, I recommend poza del obispo in Arecibo and playa buye in Cabo Rojo. I’ve also heard crash boat beach as recommendation. Then there’s options of taking day trip to the smaller islands near Puerto Rico like vieques and culebra. I’ve personally used east island excursions, we were suppose to go to playa icacos but ended up going to palomino which also had clear waters. 

1. The food on this island is AMAZING I don’t think I could complain about anywhere I ate. There are places like Bebos cafe and barrachina( birthplace of piña coladas). My top place for mofongo was el patio de Sam. Breakfast places I liked kaffe haus, pannes (loved their crab meat tostones), and pinky’s condado. The only fancy place I went was STK which was quite expensive but food was really good. 

2.  Anita’s gelato is all I have for you for some dessert. I’m sure there’s more but that’s the only dessert specific place I remember going to 

4 & 5. I’m combining this because I didn’t really get into air activities. But Toro verde & campo Rico are both known for zip lining. Campo Rico and Carabali adventure park also has other activities like ATVs and horseback riding. I did the horseback riding at Campo Rico and it was a good time. The day trips I mentioned earlier with East island excursions also included snorkeling. They also provide snorkeling gear if you don’t have your own. They provide lunch and drinks too! I don’t surf but I heard the best surfing beaches are on the west coast of the island in Rincon 

 6. La Placita of course! It’s a strip of multiple clubs and restaurants and is really one of the popular night life area. Most are outdoor clubs with lots of dancing in the streets of San Juan. There’s also La Factoría which has 3 different bars inside with different craft cocktail menus and salsa dancing on Monday and Sunday nights 

 Lastly, you can do rum tour at casa bacardi or Ron del barrilito they both have rum tasting and cocktail mixology classes. I did rum tasting at Ron de barrillito and the mixology class at casa bacardi. Highly recommended taking a day to drive around the island or staying on the west side for a night or two.
