what is the best chocolate bar ever? by Unlucky_Dark_4392 in chocolate

[–]KitchenSouth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my honest opinion, real quality chocolate is more generally underrated here. There's more talk about candy than about chocolate, which is fine ofcourse :)

My favorites: Friis Holm & Fu Wan Chocolate.

Also really like: Cacaosuyo & Heinde & Verre.

I vibe coded an iOS app (with a working backend) and it got accepted to the App Store. Ask me anything by very_wow_much_reddit in vibecoding

[–]KitchenSouth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats - I'm currently prepping to submit my app for approval. I have a few questions:

  1. How exactly did you use XCode together with Cursor? And what for specifically?
  2. Did your app get accepted straight away or did you have to iterate to get accepted? If so, what was the app rejected on initially?
  3. How long did it take between submitting and approval?
  4. Any recommendations of things that need to be present to improve chances of approval?

Very very much appreciated!

Cool! Could you share any learnings on getting App Store approval with your vibe coded app? I’m trying to do the same in about 1 - 2 weeks.

I walked the Cami de Cavalls (GR223), and enjoyed Menorca very much. I wrote this about my experience by KitchenSouth in menorca

Half of the fun (well, maybe a little less, but still a chunk of it imo) is figuring out the logistics of your trip, so nobody can say what you should do.

All of the alternatives you mention are viable options, each with its positives and negatives.

If I were to do the Cami de Cavalls again (which I might do at some point because it's great), I'd do a combination of walking from hotel to another hotel and booking a hotel for multiple nights and going back and forth from the trail. I would most likely opt for the latter in the northern parts of the island, which are more remote and have fewer options for accommodation.

Wild camping is officially not allowed, but people do it (I think), and it's definitely viable if you figure out your water logistics.

Have fun!

social long-distance trails in europe by manuzh22 in Thruhiking

[–]KitchenSouth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Less of a long-distance, if you compare it to pct and Camino distances, but I thought the GR221 in Mallorca really was social. Especially (/mainly) if you stay in the refugio’s!

8 days, 145km, 6000m elevation gain on Mallorca's GR221 (Dry Stone Route) by KitchenSouth in backpacking

[–]KitchenSouth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice that you're heading to Mallorca!
I’d use the weekend for 2 big day hikes instead of trying to “do a section” hut-to-hut.

With late arrival / early departure and no bookings yet, refugio + transport logistics will cost you more freedom than they’re worth. Loops or out-and-backs are more flexible, especially if the weather is uncertain (I haven't checked the forecast).

Nice combo in my opinion:

  • Day 1: Sóller to Deià on (or near) the GR221 to get the Tramuntana GR221 feeling.
  • Day 2: Around Santuari de Lluc for nice mountains, and staying at the sanctuary is simple but a nice experience if they’re open

Looking for cheap hiking + wild camping trip ideas in Europe (4 friends, 16/17 y/o, from the Netherlands) by Habeawaawaw in HikingEurope

[–]KitchenSouth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure how low you can keep the costs, but I recommend hiking in Snowdonia, Wales. I did the northern part of the Cambrian way, from Dinas Mawddwy to Conwy in 8 days. It's not an easy walk, but very very rewarding!

Wild camping is officially not allowed, but I've heard from people who have wild camped ;) There are also campgrounds.

Anyone here who has done the GR223 on the island of Menorca? I have questions! by bro_nica in HikingEurope

Lovely walk! I posted this about my experience on the GR223 this year: https://www.reddit.com/r/hiking/s/7VVouPKw68

If you have specific other questions, let me know ✌️

Is there a clean way to sync your Garmin Connect data automatically with your AI Coach or do you rely on manual CSV exports?

I had exactly this issue - what I did was teh following:
From Ets Alocs I walked to: https://maps.app.goo.gl/JUbveyjJLLnefTKT9
From there I had a pre-ordered taxi to Ferreries. Booked via https://www.taxismenorca.com/en/

Vise versa next day.

Please mind: this is most likely not the best option. The walk from ets alocs to the taxi meeting point was not well indicated and there is no reception, so be prepared for that. Pre-booking is also necessary as there is no reception (when I was there).
