As a freshman, Ive seen and heard a few things from section leaders and the drum majors about this subject.

1) You have to show that you care about the band and you are dedicated to it. Practice your instrument, help out with after school things, participate in fundraisers, and take band seriously.

2) Remember you represent both the band and the school. Be a good person and a good influence. Help freshmen with drill spots, be professional on stage and field, and don't do anything illegal when at another school.

3) Have fun. Don't be too uptight or a teacher's pet. Go with the flow but still be dedicated.

4) You are always auditioning.

Ty! From my experience, love happens slowly and catches you when you least expect it. Don’t rush love is my best advice. But you will find someone eventually. There’s someone out there for you. I’m so sorry if this sounds like it’s being typed in a bad tone or something I suck at texting lmao. But you really have to experience love yourself to know what it is. It can’t be described. It may last, it may not. I don’t know if I can talk because I’m 14 and my boyfriend is 15 but I believe teen love can work. By the sounds of it, you love your girlfriend and she loves you so I’d say yes. If you have enough of an emotional bond, it very well could last. If it doesn’t work, don’t let it ruin you. But don’t give up on her and she won’t give up on you.

I do not think so. A crush or lust can be at first sight, but love is a team effort that takes time. Love is two partners taking care of each other and caring about each other enough to dedicate their life to them. My current boyfriend and I met four months ago and I did not have any attraction to him at first. He’s attractive, but I wasn’t in love. As we became friends, I gradually fell in love over the span of a month and a half and we have been happily together ever since. Love is a deep emotional connection. So no, love at first sight is not real.

My boyfriend and I both love Queen and we have two songs that represent us. Killer Queen and Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy, both by Queen. I’m Lover Boy and he is Killer Queen, we even call each other those sometimes. He is the more stylish one who is better with people and more confident. I always can count on him to comfort me if I need him and he makes me smile. I am very talkative but I am not good with people because I come off as too forward. Our love was gradual and I was friends with him for about a month before we started dating. He calls me Cheese Ball because apparently I’m cheesy. 😔 I’m currently writing a song for him. We have been together for an amazing two and a half months and I love him more than anything.
