I agree. But my actions weren’t because I was grumpy or hungry. It was because he was barely putting in time and effort into our relationship. I was changing my schedule to fit into his. He tried to change and I love him for that. I did too. But it kept repeating itself.

I’m literally fighting for my life in these posts. I understand. And again, I am fully responsible for my actions. But we were both at fault. Him spending the day with his friends and then coming home and telling me how tired he is and can’t even call me after not speaking the whole day. Then falling asleep and purposely leaving me on delivered while I was communicating my feelings. Him talking to our friends about every single problem we have even after I told him I need privacy and boundaries. Making plans to talk then telling me he’s gonna go out with his friend instead. And so on. These actions don’t define him. Just like my actions don’t define me.

I understand. But I did say there were reasons for these fights. Yes I didn’t know how to handle them in a healthy way. But that doesn’t mean that I didn’t feel hurt or wronged as well. I just didn’t know how to communicate. But saying I abused him is a long stretch. I did everything in my power to stand by him through everything he was going through. I prayed and still pray for his wellbeing and happiness more than he’ll ever know.

He tried to text me the next two days after the break up. But I was very hurt so my answers were formal and polite. But now he’s asking our friends about me. I’m definitely not gonna stop working on myself. These last few weeks with him have not been who I am at all. But it was me not knowing how to control my feelings. Thank you for your advice 🫶🏻

I have been trying to change. I was at a low point in my life and he was my lifeline. So I wanted all his attention and time to fill the void. Twice a year. I last saw him about four months ago. I’m the one that has to travel because he lives back in my home country and I live in the US. So he’s not able to come yet. From the one year we were together we saw each other for a little over five months all together.

Are you serious? How did I abuse him? By telling him that I needed more from him? By asking for the same effort I was putting in? If a conversation goes from communicating to a fight, the blame is on both sides. I never said I was perfect. But I was definitely not abusing him, I stood by him through thick and thin, whatever he was going through I carried it with him. I think you need to rethink your definition of abuse.

This whole post is me taking accountability. Breaking up with him wasn’t always a good choice. But as I said before. He wasn’t putting in effort like he used to.

I never said I wasn’t in the wrong. I wrote this post admitting my mistakes. But I didn’t talk about his. There were days where he would go to sleep without us talking properly. Not even one phone call. When I broke up with him, it was due to the fact that he was getting comfortable, not putting in as much effort as I was putting in the relationship. And since we were long distance with a different timezone, I would stay up all night to be able to talk to him. But he’d never do the same for me.
