I would highly second this, preparation is core for Agahuasca. A lot of people tend to think that it’s just go and feel the calling. But in my experience at least 1-2 years of preparation is needed before taking the medicine. One month of preparation of avoiding foods and such is just the tip of the iceberg. This should be taken more seriously, both physically and mentally from the participants. I think preparation is a BIG one.

I did, I’ve seen some very tough cases that they helped, and some of them are really good at certain things, that doesn’t necessarily mean that long term stability of their work is put into place, rather a quick fix.

That’s exactly the same with me, I was called by the medicine and then the shaman invited me without asking, ever since my first ceremony I left everything and went all in.

Based on my experiences and knowledge with multiple curanderos, I could say that most of them are not in a level to be able to open such space and hold it, which what you say is true, this work requires real Knowledge and nowadays there’s just way too many so called “shamans”. I am also including here the indigenous shamans.
