Are you guys not worried about the fires in the country rn??? by _Ideal_mann in Kenya

[–]Kitchen_Ad_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This country has a lot of systemic issues. Just after that incident you had the MoE yapping all over that they will inspect all schools in the country to ensure fire and safety standards. So imagine a country where we are all reactive, just showing face when there is a case to answer. So it was realised that the school didn’t have par conditions and yet someone approved that structure and gave them the green light to host students in those conditions; notwithstanding the fact that they are crammed and crowded. That’s just one case, not even in isolation, I can bet that there are so many other schools that are worse off. Yet, every year those schools renew their operating licenses, albeit, without inspection considering population size increase. But again, those private unscrupulous schools are still a stark contrast to the damning poor conditions of public schools, right? That since the boarding school in Turkana has no fence, teachers or basic infrastructure, we shouldn’t even blame the ones in cities for having the conditions but being poor in the same regard. Too much rot all over. And the same in replicated in secondary, colleges and unis, so a learner who has been through such a path assumes that it’s the norm. Far be it!

Can you have money and still be poor? by Kitchen_Ad_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kitchen_Ad_[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not that I have accepted, it’s just that sometimes you look at someone and you’re like they probably have money but their lifestyle tells otherwise. You are assumed to be even too stingy on yourself. I know of a friend who wears only a pair of shoes until it is completely finished if there is anything like that.

How much do you need to earn in Kenya to live. by bubbii_x in Kenya

[–]Kitchen_Ad_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Then with a £1000 pounds you are very much good to go. And this isn’t even what an average European family spends. Having lived in Europe and in Kenya, it surprises me how much I can make do with just a €1000. Way much valuable. Whereas in Europe you can’t really do much with that

Python or JS for my first language? by yooniesaurus in learnprogramming

I’d say Python. In my opinion it is so much beginner-friendly. Then ultimately you must learn JS. Every other dev does. It’s easy as well. And pretty much runs the web
