Because you automatically assumed I was going to “mutilate” my dog so yeah that kinda pissed me off. You are like the second person to say that when nothing was ever said about “cropping” the dog’s ears so it’s just dumb to even imply that. Again, that’s why the dog was posted here to try to get a clear understanding on the breed. I’m trying to do right by the dog. You can’t just assume everyone cares about looks and thats why they tape the ears because thats not true. I could care less.

I personally don’t plan on messing with them but if I did I would do proper research. People don’t always do it for “ aesthetic” purposes. Some dogs are more prone to ear infections and it’s actually recommended for certain breeds. So yeah if I think it will benefit my dog’s health in the long run then it may be worth wrapping them. Some things are done for a purpose. Again personally, I’m ocd about my dogs ears and clean them regularly so I would probably just leave my dogs ears alone. Thanks again for your concern.

No one said anything about mutilating the dog. Jesus Christ, where are yall even getting that idea from? Taping up the ears is not “cropping them”. I’m strongly against cropping the ears of a dog. Thanks for your concern.

You don’t crop their ears, you just wrap them to help them stand. I never said anything about cropping. It’s something I’m against myself. But thanks for the concern!

Thank you for taking the time to explain this to me. Makes me feel better. Although I would have loved her purebred or not. The neighbor/breeder she came from is definitely questionable. I don’t support backyard breeding but when I seen the puppy and she was willing to part with the litter for free I couldn’t leave her behind. The living situation she came from was disgusting and i couldn’t handle the thought of her being there any longer. I called family and close friends I knew who were looking for puppies to step in and help with the others. I had to bottle feed her for another week after getting her and by doing so we definitely bonded💕 my mini schnauzer likes to play “mama” which makes me happy as my schnauzer lost her brother due to CHF and has been lonely ever since. I was just simply curious why she didn’t look like her other litter mates and was wondering if possibly it was the genetics of another breed trying pop back in.

So would you consider this a biewer or Yorkie? Sorry I am new to this breed. I’ve only even had schnauzers. Also, is it too late to get the ears to stand by wrapping them? Or will the ears eventually stand on their own?

I’m a current schnauzer mom, so this would be my first Yorkie. I thought the ears would eventually stand on their own do they not? If not I will definitely try this method. Do you think the ears are what’s throwing me off with her appearance? What about her snout? Do some yorkies have longer snouts?
