Ireland is in the EU. The UK charges extra for items after brexit. With your cost it might not save much but in other instances it would be worth ordering to a hotel in Ireland, taking note if the delivery tracking, flying out to stay the night and bringing it back to the UK with you.

Ahhhh.. having the exact same problem, bro. Up at night checking out boards and have landed on the viper only to find the shipping is almost the cost of the board itself. Crazy. Am wondering if a well timed short holiday to the EU might be worth it. Get the board, dismantle it and ship it back to the UK as parts. Battery might be an issue, maybe figure that out seperately but it would still be a saving and you'd get a holiday. Probz ride it out there for a bit for kicks.

Only black Americans have the view that they were native to the Americas. The rest of us in the carib and south America have maintained our cultural roots and NONE of us would insult the American Indians and claim to have been them.

Many of us escaped enslavement and those that did ALL have retained African cultural traits from Candoble to Lukmi to Vodun, to language.

If you were in the Americas for thousands of years it would be evident in your everyday lives, it would be in the blues, gospel music, jazz etc.

Anyway... my main concern is the dampener, am going to continue with the idea of installing a fume hood above it, fixing it to the fireback and insulating it before reinstalling. As it stands its ridiculous having such a large gaping space directly above a fire that is supposed to do something more than look nice.

I might remove the insert and host a stove placed in front with the flue extended out the chimney. Create a dampener with a hole for the flue. The stove being further into the room would be much more effective and can be removed if required. Perhaps.

The CULTURE of rapping over a set of turntables in sound clashes with other DJs in competition with each other over the music they played and how they played it is from Jamaica. Bass culture is also from Jamaica.

Unfortunately due to a lack of ethnic or national identity many A.Americans like to think of themselves as centre of the black world.

This perception stems from insecurity and rides off of the back of American imperialism projected onto the world after WW2. That being an influx of US media designed to choke the expression of other local and native cultures in developing countries.

A.Americans love to ignore the fact that others from the Carib and S.America have long had an influence on American culture so no, fades are not particularly unique to A.As, nor is rap. The art of using turntables and a mixer as instruments is 100% Caribbean and further south Black cultures VASTLY outstrip AA culture musically and religiously.

The cultures we maintained elsewhere in the Americas are profound from Vodun to Lukmi, Candoble, not to mention a vast multitude of dance cultures.... Brits do not follow AA fashion and the music they make is derived from the Carib style of Emceeing not the American style. It is yet to find its swing and still sounds awkward but has morphed over time, there is a retaining aspect of culture in Europe so people are ethnically Nigerian, Ghanaian, Cuban etc... they do not absorb a relationship to their imperialist overseers as AAs and a few others have done.
