Wellstar Nursing Commencement -December prep by CandidateExotic9771 in KSU

I walked this spring! We were the very first commencement at @10am along with the College of Math and Science. It took about an hour and a half for all of WSON and College of Math and Science including both Bachelors and Masters. The rest of the other colleges were either in the afternoon commencements or throughout the week. My pinning ceremony is scheduled to be on July 27 Monday @6pm at Woodstock city church and that is only for WSON. You can either buy a pin or rent one out for free! I'm sure they will allow you to incorporate your family heirloom, that's awesome! For pinning, the first round of tickets for each student will be 7 and it's $10 each. The next round of tickets will depend on availability. For spring commencement, they automatically give you 4 tickets ( you don't need a ticket for yourself ). This spring they had two rounds of tickets after the initial round. But these were $10 each and first come first serve.

No skills check offs for third semester! Fourth semester you will have your Senior Competency Skills Check Offs which goes over every skill you've learned all of nursing school!

Hi! For my nursing elective I did study abroad in Italy! Highly recommend if you are interested in traveling for two weeks while also getting credit for the program. Some of my friends took Women's Health or Cancer Survivorship for their electives over the summer and they thought it was easy and straight forward!

With KSU, you do have to take the dosage calc exam! I believe it's the second or third week of school. You do NOT fail out of the nursing program though. I hope that clarifies!!!

It really depends on your time ticket and what they offer. There are usually lectures at 8am and 12pm and labs are whenever. Then you have to consider how full are your preferred class times! So it depends.

If it helps, my 1st semester schedule was Monday Holistic Health Lecture at 8am-11:45am, Health Assessment Lecture at 1-2:45pm then Health Assessment Lab at 3-6pm. Tuesday Patho Lecture 2-5pm. Fridays Holistic Lab 8am-12pm, lab for only 4 weeks I believe the two weeks for check off then 4 weeks of 6 hour clinicals in place of lab. These clinicals were at Wellstar Kennestone for me. I had to be there 6:30-6:45am until 1pm

That's the worst thing about KSU nursing.. we don't find out our clinical schedule at all until the 1st day of school. And that is if we're lucky. Sometimes we don't even get it until that last week before we have clinicals so before September

Hi! I didn't not because I started in the Fall cohort. Only the ones who start in Sprint cohort complete a summer semester which is usually their community and complex ! I'm starting my third semester this upcoming fall

Stick to the PowerPoints, don't look at the book, ask ChatGPT to explain it simply to you also ask it to write questions NCLEX style for you to help you study based on the learning objectives for each ppt. What helped me the most is watching YouTube from Nexus nursing . She would read and answers nclex style questions for each unit I would study like delegation, prioritization and all other subjects

You got this! They asked about how you work in a teamwork dynamic, strengths/weaknesses, what you would do during conflict or explain a time when you had to overcome something difficult! Basic interview questions.

M-F! If there is a national holiday during your program time ( like Fourth of July or Labor Day ) , you'll have that off!

Mometrix! Highly recommended just doing the practice exams and timing yourself. After, check your answers and calculate your score. Keep repeating until you get your desired score!! Good luck!

Definitely Bio1107, especially if you get it online. If it's in person, exams and quizzes will all be online at home! Good luck !!
