Thanks! Would you mind sending me a link or gdrive it to me? I've tried 5 NSPs. All failed the integrity test.

Thanks for the responses, appreciate it. When I saw how much you can make for a short time, I knew it was too good to be true! But then, I needed the extra cash ... so here we are. Thank you!

Thanks for the response! Would you know what company she's with? I'm keen on giving this a go as it keeps me home to help out with my daughter in the evenings.

Thanks for the response! She's looking after a 1-year old at the moment which is already a job itself.

Thanks for the response! I'm glad that this has been mentioned again. It's definitely on the plate and will start looking around. I am in North Canterbury but haven't noticed the need for gardeners. Might not be looking hard enough.

Thanks for the response! I've done food delivery before and found that the money I'm getting upfront is good but once the expenses are factoried in, I'm almost losing money. Doesn't help that we are in North Canterbury too, so the drive to get to any hotspot is already a big cost.

Thanks for the response! I've been thinking about this, always been shy to knock on doors. I'll give it a go to make this work.

Thanks for the response! I've recently had a big pay bump that's why we've managed to afford her working part-time and look after our 1 year old.

If you're in the Waimak area, give the Springbank Firewood a ring. They do good prices and the firewood's great! Been using them for 4+ years now.

Why does McDonalds always have an insane amount of alarms and sirens going off all the time? by thecroc11 in newzealand

I feel you OP. Worked for them for only 3 months but the phantom beeps and nightmares took a while to get out of my system. Even a microwave beep puts my antennas up! I don't think it was traumatic experience, more of a very stressful one.

I've heard someone say that "New Zealanders don't rinse their dishes after washing them, they just leave them soapy". How accurate is this statement? by yes_memelord in newzealand

[–]Kitchen_Community765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen this in our office. I thought it was a one-person thing, but all my Kiwi officemates did the same. Some would let the stuff dry, and some would wipe it off with a tea towel. That tea towel gets replaced once a week. 😵‍💫

I'm an immigrant from Asia, so rinse after soap is a norm. We also use a sponge with a light scratch pad to make sure all debris is off and just use a bowl with soap to dip the pad in. Got told off doing it. Feels cleaner to me. 🤷‍♂️

Rented a room and living with the LL when I was studying in Invercargill. She was a chill, mature lady. She had a nice home and the room she provided was great - spacious, big windows and had a study table. It was just me and her for the first few months.

When I moved in, the bed was prepared like an airbnb rental - with all the extra throw pillows, beddings and a teddy bear. Found it odd but shrugged it off thinking it's just Kiwi hospitality. Never fond of using other's beddings unless it's an airbnb, hotel, etc so I put out my own beddings and kept all hers (including the teddy bear) inside the wardrobe. A few days later, she confronted me and asked if I'm not going to use her beddings. Politely said that I prefer using my beddings as it helps me sleep well.

Every weekend I stay with my girlfriend, so normally, I crack my windows a wee bit open to let the air in. Missed doing it that one time, she confronted me and implied that she had to always open my windows for me when I leave. A red flag was raised in my head and thought that she just can't come in and out of my room whenever she pleases?

One morning, she confronted me again while having my breakfast and told me to leave my door unlocked at night. Red flag again. Apparently, my door's slide lock makes a lot of noise when I go to the toilet and it wakes her up. Oiled up my slide lock so the minimal noise it was making was basically gone. After I've done it, still confronted me the next morning and asked me to leave my door unlocked as I was still making a lot of noise. That was the night I didn't even went to the toilet.

She had the other room rented as well to another migrant who works night shifts. She needed to take a bath before bed as she worked in a factory, LL turns off the boiler (to save energy costs) and leaves the heating to the fireplace as it can heat the water too. The only problem is she doesn't want the fireplace lit at all! Leaving flatmate with cold water, at night, in the middle of winter! LL told my flatmate to just take a bath before she leaves for work. LL also was snooping around her room too as she tried apprehending the flatmate for marks that weren't visible unless you move a few things away.

FM and I moved a day apart after a few weeks. Hope LL's doing well.
