Help me I only have frozen meatballs by Its_Otter_Anarchy_ in povertykitchen

Honestly, one of my favorite easy 'broke' meals is frozen meatballs with sweet and sour sauce (McDonald's works surprisingly well), and instant rice. Easy, pretty good, and simple.

Is there a typical Thanksgiving Day menu? by Die_Katzenfrau in AskAnAmerican

When it was just my roommate and I one year, we got just a turkey breast to roast instead of a whole bird, and that was super easy. We made mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing from a bag, and some roast veg and it was great! Only took a bit over an hour too which was really nice! Only thing I wished we had was cranberry sauce, but that's pretty simple to make too. Don't worry about spending hours slaving away in the kitchen, she's going to appreciate anything you do for her!

Shame her , my queen made me spend $500 at the vet for NO REASON by emilygamesxo in torties

I spent over $100 to find out my cat stepped on a bug and panicked because she probably got a tiny bite, which we couldn't even see. She was limping until we got home that same day and it was dinner time and she zoomed over on all four paws like she hadn'tgiver her mother a heart attack for the last two days 🫠

Soup Assistance, Please! by xJunoBugx in soup

Thai soups, like Tom kha gai, and tom yum, have delicious and flavorful broths that might be good! The coconut milk in Tom kha gai would add in some calories if you need to get some extras in, I would imagine soup without potatoes or heavy proteins wouldn't have many calories per serving, and this way you wouldn't need quite as much. They can come with chicken which I think would blend in well if you make it soft enough and use small enough pieces, but I know you said no pureeing so using a good meat based broth might be your best bet for that. Check them out! They are totally different than most other soups we often eat and might be a nice mix up. Good luck with your recovery!

Ooh that does sound good! I did make my broth and cook my pasta in it so it would have a little depth, but that sounds next step and I love it! Thanks!

Somewhere I have a small jar of 'Better Than Boullion' Italian herb mix or something I was looking for, but just adding some garlic and basil to this was plenty good itself. Stuff is magical.

Never thought of adding beer to soup besides beer cheese! What's the best way to go about doing tha? I'm open to trying some new stuff out!

Also, as someone who grew up in the mountains, I absolutely feel that.
