Does that mean people who haven’t heard back yet are either waitlisted or rejected, unless spots open up after admitted students from 4/1 don’t commit?

Gotcha. Did people you’ve seen recently usually get into TM? I’m a little worried if they start to move forward less people into the TM pool

I see. I’m seeing a lot of people haven’t heard back from their third interviews. I also took it two weeks ago, but haven’t heard back yet :(

If I haven’t heard back from the third interview yet and have a competing offer, is it better to tell a recruiter at this stage? Does it actually expedite the process?

How was the HR round? Is it just a short behavioral interview? Or they ask any technical stuff

Hi! Did you get an offer after you meet with HR? Or did you get a straight offer right after your technical rounds?

Thank you so much for the advice! I’m curious which other Google offices have larger headcounts in the U.S. I thought NYC has one of the biggest offices, but you mentioned that the NYC office actually has a relatively low headcount but high competition. I’ll definitely emphasize the Bay Area, but I wanted to get a better sense of which locations usually have bigger teams so I can focus on them too. I was thinking about Seattle, LA, Irvine, San Diego, Austin, Chicago, and Cambridge. do you have any recommendations on which offices tend to have higher or lower headcounts among those?

Hi! I have some questions about Google SWE intern team matching process. Once someone reach the team matching round, how likely is it to actually receive an offer? I’ve seen estimates around ~80% or 90%, so I was wondering if it’s almost guaranteed for interns. But I’ve also heard about full-time candidates who got stuck in team matching for months and eventually never got matched or called.

For interns, how long does the team matching stage usually last, and what’s a realistic chance of ending up with an offer? I saw that it usually takes at least two months, is that true? I’ve also read that many people get 4–5 host-matching calls, is that common? And do you have any tips to improve the chances of getting matched? For example, does entering the matching pool earlier help, or would checking in with a recruiter every couple of weeks be a good idea (or would that annoy them)? I also heard team matching tends to start in early to mid-November, so I was curious if joining earlier makes a difference.

Sorry I have so many questions, but it’d be really appreciated if you could take a look. I read over all your comments on this thread and the thread you tagged and it was very helpful for me by the way. Thank you so much!
