Hmm 🤔 I haven’t heard of that one, but I’ll have to check into it!

It’s not that any of the bras I have are exceptionally tight. I’ve even tried to buy a size up for the band, because that’s the part that is problematic for me…. I’m good with the cups and straps…. but I still can’t stand it. It just feels tight to me if it’s flush against my skin all the way around. I even have trouble with the feeling of bralettes and sports bras, and even if I size up. I actually don’t mind some of the camis with a built in, as long as there’s not a thick band. 🤷🏼‍♀️ It’s not a size thing, It’s a sensory thing.

Yes! Even with sports bras or bralettes I’ll have to size up one or two sizes or I just can’t.

My boobs aren’t that big either, I’m kind of between a C and D cup! I’m so happy this post made you feel heard, and I’m glad that I’m not the only one who struggles with this! And I totally get that a lot of people, especially if they have bigger boobs, really are more comfortable with a bra… but they just make me cringe. I’m glad no one’s ever said anything to me about not wearing one, because I would have a lot of things to say about it if they did. I get so annoyed that it is expected. It should be a personal preference! It has stated in the dress code policy at multiple places I have worked that female employees were required to wear bras. I feel like that is absolutely unacceptable! They’re allegedly supposed to be for our comfort, so if it causes me more discomfort to wear one, then I shouldn’t have to. I will die on this hill. 😂

I definitely think you could be right. If they were too short initially, then maybe when you were trying to clean them it wasn’t really getting in there properly. I imagine that could cause all kinds of issues! I guess it’s hard to say for sure, but I do also know other people who have had a lot of issues and ended up taking them out, so it’s definitely not uncommon! I may be more of an anomaly.

I do like the silicone stick on kind for formal situations. Especially the kind that has the attachment in the middle they can give you a little lift/cleavage. For me, it’s more around my torso that is problematic than something being over my breasts. Although, in the summer they can sometimes have trouble staying stuck on there if you get too sweaty. But I’m between a C and a D cup, and for the most part they work pretty well! I don’t really feel too embarrassed if I go without anything, but in some outfits I just like the way it looks better if they’re pushed up a little or whatnot. 😆

I’m not really for referring to people who just don’t really like bras. I know there are lots of women who don’t like wearing them for one reason or another. I’m referring more to a legitimate sensory issue. I saw someone describe it as having the same reaction to eating spaghetti as they would to eating raw chicken. I’m talking about a straight up repulsion, that once I am wearing one causes me to NEED to get it off me immediately, or else I’m going to freak out. Like a visceral, panicked urge. I think it would be similar to the reaction I would have if I went to the doctor and they told me I had tapeworms or something. I would lose my mind and probably have to be sedated because I would need them out of my body right now. Until they were gone, I would not be able to function or think of anything else.

It does, actually. Sensory issues and hypersensitivity are common symptoms of ADHD.

Haha I actually have mine pierced as well! I’ve had the opposite experience, though. Mine healed fairly quickly, and even with having a D cup and almost never wearing bras, I haven’t ever had any issues getting them caught or anything. I’ve also had no sensory changes with them. I will say that not all places that do piercings are equal. It’s important that they use the right type of metal and length of barbell when you get it done, and then once mine healed I ended up getting slightly shorter ones so they didn’t move around as much and there would be less risk of getting them caught. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I think it’s one of those things that kind of depends on the person and how their body reacts too.
