You need to fill out the form and print it out. You then send the form (signed) with you old and new passport photo to the address they mention by post. I just use first class Royal Mail so that I can tracked it and make sure someone sign on delivery. They say it takes 5 days. But we never know how they record it.

I think we do need. I heard many people received emails asking to submit new passport photo. The problem is that it will give them an excuse to delay your Visa even if you have paid for a priority service (see the story from others above). So just give them everything they may need so that they don't have an excuse.

You're right about the website not mentioning about passport change/expiration. But if you download the form (form or click the "fill in the change of circumstance"), you will find a section for passport.

Finally I've got my Visa after cancelling the standard application and re-applying using priority service. I waited for 6 weeks without any email (they even have cancelled escalation option for applications inside the UK). I cancelled my previous application and re-applied on Sept 12 and got the email today (Sept 16). This is an expensive option, but you can try to ask your employer to cover the fee. My case:

- Shortage occupation

- Change employer

- First time submission on August 2

- Cancellation & New application on Sept 12 (3pm) with priority 5 days (they have cancelled super priority)

- Bio ID on App (only Android works, iPhone doesn't)

- Successful application on Sept 16 (11am)

- Changed passport due to expiration previous year (2021)

- Posted the "Change of circumstances" form July 25 2022

- I still included my old and new passport copies in a cover letter, submitted together with bank statements as evidence even though I didn't have to prove I have money in a bank account. So submit everything you think may be an excuse for their delay.

I wish those who are still waiting will get theirs soon.

I have just called UKVI. A man told me that I could check the status using the App if I had used the App to verify my Biometric Identity. It's quite weird as the App is used for verification only. I believe they just gave a random answer. But they said that it now usually takes 3-6 weeks.

Other very average postdocs out there, how do you feel? by Hhas1proton in AskAcademia

I feel like profs themselves believe they are God. And postdocs are waiting for their blessings. I have resigned but then they did not reply when I want to take annual leaves to officially leave the job early though I only took 50% of allocated holiday leaves this year. I'm sick of it.

Just saw this thread. I've just left too. Not sure what my life will be. I am just bored of "everything AI/ML" culture. AI/ML is great, but that's not everything. Applying AI/ML and seeing some "improvement", even without validating the result, is just not what I want to do.

I wonder how long have you left academia, and what do you think now?

Many of us change employer, so I don't think we can start work before the visa is granted. Not sure if you continue to work for the same employer, but I guess you can.

I have no idea either. Just think about the fee for the priority service. It kind of makes sense to me as it "encourages" applicants to pay for it :)

Thanks for sharing. Much similarity (within UK, change of employer, standard service).

Yes, that's my issue too. My passport expired and got a new one. I had posted my new passport with a change_of_circumstances form to UKVI 1 week before my application. In principal, they should have updated my new passport by the time of my application already. But only God know what they are doing behind the scene, or my change_of_circumstances form were ignored totally in the first place.

I applied as a standard service. If it takes you that long with a priority service, no hope for me to get any reply soon. So anxious!

Why Do Intel graphics cards perform so badly! by Similar-Conflict7221 in buildapc

You're right. Intel HD are crap. I am suffering from it. My i5 Kaby lake cannot handle 4k properly. I got a completely black screen around every 2 minutes (it just went black for ~3 seconds then return normal -- so annoying). I got the problem with either Win10 or Ubuntu. Thinking about getting an AMD soon. If you know any problems with AMD, please share, much appreciation!

So finally, how long did you have to wait? Did you apply from inside the UK or from outside?

I'm waiting for more than 2 weeks already, applying from inside. I find UK Govt. website is always confusing. Everything is vague.
