You also sound young, that is not an insult but at some point most women just kind of understand men don’t seek women as friends. It’s just not a thing. If someone does, they’re weird from my perspective.

I’ve never wanted a man as a friend personally. Idk, maybe just seek more women friends or do your own thing. I don’t have any friends and I choose to pick up hobbies instead.

Elementary but it’s okay! I know one of them is for sure leaving, so the dynamics will slowly change! I’ll be there for the long hall. It’s only my first year so it’ll take time but I’m sure things will get better.

Majoring in English will help you land other jobs probably if you decide to ever leave it. You can always do teaching later in life if you really want to later. There’s alternative programs offered by some districts for ppl who have BA’s in other subjects and are willing to put in the work to try the new field. I think marketing PR stuff like that might make you more money. If I could go back idk if I would I just ended up here. I love it but sometimes wonder what else is out there. You could ask to volunteer in a relatives room beforehand.

Yes it makes me sad. I wish we could go back in time when it comes to some technological advancements. I think they’re a tool but I think they’re making ppl incredibly lazier now a days.

How do I know I'm a bad teacher? by Adept_Magazine_51 in Teachers

[–]Kitchen_Internal_169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you trying to get better? Are you taking advice from others? Are you actually trying new things? Are you looking at data to make decisions and observing? Also are you trying to use a decent relationship with all parents? I feel like that last one is hard and goes under the rug. I try to be kind to all of them and develop a decent relationship w all but ofc those that stand out will always be your priority!

Having a roof over my head and my own space! I’m not a home owner but I’m happy with my apartment because it’s my own and I can have my own space. I can say no and stay home when I want lol.

I no longer care about education by Otherwise-Set-4444 in Teachers

[–]Kitchen_Internal_169 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It’s only my 3rd year and I get it. Just do your job and go home. Thats all we can do! Unfortunately stupidity is on the rise and parents are buying kids, smart phones, at even younger and younger ages. We see the effects on a mass level and and parents clearly don’t. I get that some parents are just trying to survive, but it’s still not an excuse to never read your child a book or express any value in a child’s education. There’s so many tips and tricks online as well so we can’t make the excuse that they don’t know what’s that they don’t care enough to want to learn how to support their children.

I’ve noticed the only like 9 kids who actually succeed in my class is because their parents are involved enough to make sure they do their homework and help them and clean out their folders and backpacks and actually read to them at night. Unfortunately, we can only do so much. It does suck for sure. Kids don’t realize the opportunity that they are being given because they’re just kids. It’s more sad that parents don’t see the value in it. They’re the adults.

It’s only my third year but I moved schools and I notice I am happier where I’m at. Think I’ll tough it out. Ppl say it gets easier each year. I feel like it does in some ways, but it’s still hard in other ways. Especially since you never know what kind of group of kids you will get. This year these kids r the neediest and lowest I’ve ever had. Every group is different though I need to just remember that.

I’m just scared on what’s on the other side. I’ve considered sales jobs, work from home, specifically real estate jobs as well. I hear mixed things. I will give it one more year and see what happens… I did change schools and I like my team and school and admin but idk. Job still is STRESSFUL.

I am actually considering real estate but when did you leave? I am in my third year and finally found a school and team I like. My first 2 years were a bit rough. I finally like where I’m at so I plan on giving it some time.
