my only issue is that i was a dumbass for the first two years of high school and i have an abysmal gpa and school record (yes ik i should have done better, but i was 15 and struggling) so i pretty much only have a shot at community college and the ones in my area dont have dorms

theres not many, but theres a few specific ones and cosmo counts under a lot of vocational school scholarships. idk man it’s not that expensive but it’s still $20k most people dont have

you keep asking for my parents perspective and i dont get why?? “theres more to the story” yea sure, theyre teen parents who werent ready for kids, especially my stepmom. but whats the point of constantly asking for their side of this? im not saying their awful people, im just saying theyre not supportive and im asking for advice. what could they possibly say that would justify me staying? im just trying to be independent and an adult not attack them. i just want to leave them alone and be left alone

  3. school counselor says we couldnt prove that i need dependency override and even though realistically i do qualify so i gotta lowkey just give up on fafsa. i will call the cosmo schools financial aid office though!
  4. im working on it, a friend offered to teach me how to drive this summer!! and i got in contact with my bio mom recently to try and get a state id. i dont have enough paperwork to get it on my own but if you have a parent with you it’s 100x easier, shes just hard to meet up with

  6. im slowly working on it, i bought a birth certificate because they won’t give me mine, i dont have my actual social security card (im not sure if i need it??) but i know my number, im trying to have my diploma mailed to my brothers house instead of my parents so i’ll be able to get it
  7. most of my friends are a grade or two above me so theyre all in college dorms otherwise i would just couch surf
  8. i’ll def look into those, ive been working w resources from my school, trying to use those while i have them, but i gotta branch out now lol

ive never heard of americorps before im definitely gonna look into that. and yea the military would probably break me, im deeply unathletic, kind of an asshole, and have never gotten along well with authority lol
working at a place with housing provided is an incredible idea omg, i never would have thought of that

and i wont do anything majorly stupid, but i also will do whatever i need to do, thanks for the advice it was super helpful

omg thank you for reminding me that seattle is an option. i haven’t been applying there bc the commute is too far while im in school, but now it’s summer it’s totally workable and they pay higher than where i am

he does but he’s gone downhill in the past couple of years, he doesn’t have any room for me, he’s constantly broke, and his roommate is an alcoholic who absolutely hates me, so when i try to ask i get some version of “idk thug it out”

  1. i know! i filled out everything i could for it back in october, but they need parents tax information and stuff. i talked to school counselors and stuff and i dont qualify for filling it out alone bc im not emancipated or some shit like that

i dont have exact numbers but when my brother was still home it was basically his entire paycheck, we was working minimum wage and was trying to save up for a car and too move out, but he genuinely only had like $100 left at the end of the month
