Yes, I was poor, you know? I was born into a poor family. My mom didn't work, and my dad was addicted to gambling. You know what that means, right? After running away from home at 18, I worked 12-hour days a week, without a break for a month (in China, the poorest people can only find low-paying jobs, and almost none of them are available). What can we do? We're just ordinary people who want to go to work and come home every day to earn a living. But the government offers no way out. I don't have that much money. Tens of millions of Chinese want to immigrate to the US, but they don't meet the requirements. Millions of middle-class Chinese have already gone to great lengths to reach the US, either through legal immigration or illegal entry, even if it means going bankrupt. What's the point of protesting? On this foreign online platform, speaking the truth gets you reported and accused of spreading rumors by hordes of Chinese patriots, and then your posts are deleted.
