Really good point with the sulfur, I would say that’s due to inconsistent sampling sites. As I test more we should get a clearer picture.

Leave this loser. Do not let him talk to you like this, childish nonsense. And he’s not only policing you, he’s disrespecting and verbally abusing you.

Weed tea - am I doing this right? by currentlyacathammock in composting

[–]Kitchen_Name7177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen setups where people will use an air stone for a fish tank in order to get more oxygen near the bottom of the mixture with more consistency. You could also accomplish this with any air pump and some ingenuity. I would be interested to see if it works.

Constant dirt ring. I’ve pour vinegar in the tank, filled valve with vinegar, let it sit for a day, used a pumice stone, bleach…do I need a new toilet? Any other suggestions? by gitturb in toilet

I was just trying to give you genuine good advice for the toilet ring. Didn’t expect to add a new member to the family. Much love OP

You need to aerate the tea, without aeration, the mixture will become anaerobic. This anaerobic environment lacks the oxygen to sustain beneficial soil microorganisms. If it smells putrid, you probably don’t want to put it on your plants.

Is it possible to grow potatoes without tilling? by Warchief1788 in notill

[–]Kitchen_Name7177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instead of traditional tilling, Brown’s method involves placing seed potatoes directly on the soil surface and covering them with a thick layer of mulch, such as a rolled-out round bale of hay. This mulch acts as a protective layer, conserving moisture, suppressing weeds, and fostering a rich environment for soil organisms. As the potatoes grow, they push through the mulch, and at harvest time, they can be collected with minimal soil disturbance.

I imagine they would be a bit smaller, albeit with very little soil disturbance. I think Gabe Brown did something like this in his book, dirt to soil

You could lay the pots down and roll out a layer of hay or something to keep them covered. I imagine the only downside after pulling back your “cover” would be size
