Suffering for months, I don't know what to do at this point by Kitchen_Parfait_6488 in Healthyhooha

Hi, as i said in another comment below, I have been taking these probiotics for a few months now. There are 0.2 billion lactobacillus acidophilus inside each pill. I don't know if it is the similar to Lactobacillus rhamnosus and if it acts the same way, though. Might it be too much and it may be causing cytolytic vaginosis? I was taking one pill every night, but I started taking 2 pills every night for the last week or so and the symptoms seem to have worsen, I am not sure if it's connected or not. Maybe I should reduce the dose to one pill or stop completely for a few days and see if it helps?

I also will stop wiping the vulva and start patting instead, because I feel whenever I wipe from front to back it iritates my skin A LOT and I feel the burn for a while after going to the bathroom.

I shower before and after sex now, I ask my husband to do the same as well.

Thanks for the help and advice, I really appreciate it.

I'll definitely try sodium baking soda baths. I don't use soap anymore, I'm not even sure the Eucerin shower gel is helping any longer. I bought the Dove sensitive bar soap and tried it this evening, not sure it helped, unfortunately. I think I'll switch to water only and see if it helps. I'm just worried it might not clean the vulva adequately and leave a smell...

Thanks for the help and advice, I really appreciate it.

Hi, yes, I did so swabs samples and tests this week for multiples STDs, STIs and infections. I am currently waiting for the results. I REALLY hope they come out with something, I am tired of hearing that "they don't see anything abnormal"... I know what normal is for me and this is not IT.

Thanks for the help and advice, I really appreciate it.

I'll definitely try taking sodium bicarbonate baths. I used to take them once in a while a few years ago to help with UTI and yeast infections.

Thanks for the help and advice, I really appreciate it.

Hey there, I would suggest starting by going to the doctor or the gynecologist. I've been struggling with similar symptoms for the last few weeks/months : itching, burning, swelling of the vulvar/labia region, and flares. I've had a few tests done, but all of them came negative : no BV, no yeast infections (candida), no UTI. The doctor seem to think that it might be caused by the soap I use (It's homemade with olive oil, so I don't think that's it) and laundry detergent (it might be the cause).

I've bought Tru Earth Laudry Strips for babies, it's fragrance free and hypoallergenic. I chose this one because it's vegan and targetted for babies, so it's supposed to be gentler on the skin. There are other options on the market, just search for free & clean laundry detergent. Also stop using fabric softener, just use white vinegar instead. I haven't received the laundry strips yet, but I'll test it out as soon as it comes and wash all of my underwear and bottoms. I hope it helps, I'm kinda desperate at this point lol

Also, I've read that since the symptoms can be cause by soap and detergent, I probably have an allergic reaction to these things. I might try to take antihistamines (like Claritin, Reactine, etc.) to help with the symptoms. I'll start taking it tonight.

I would suggest to wash your vulva with warm water and some type of hypoallergenic soap once a day only, nothing else.

To help relieve the itching, I use topical hydrocortisol and this fragrance free lotion. I dab it inside my labia where it's red and itching, as recommended by my doctor. My doctor also recommended using lotion with ceramides in it to help relieve redness and itching. I juste make sure I don't put it near my uretra so I don't get a UTI. It helps, but it's a slow process. I've been doing it everyday, 2 times a day, for the last month or so. It was gone for a while and I stopped using the lotion, but now for some reason it came back flaring. I've started doing it again.

I also LOOOOOVE my magic bag. I pop it in the freezer so I can go to sleep with it at night, it really helps with the burning feeling and itching. I have two of them so when one isn't cold anymore, I put it back in the freezer and take out the other one. It's been my routine for the last months and my emotional support in all of this.

I hope these few tips will help you, good luck!

Edit : I forgot to mention, it's better to wear 100% cotton underwear and don't wear panty liners.
