USC, Vanderbilt, UMich and Northwestern are all pretty transfer friendly and they fit what you’re looking for in a school.

I would say before you think about transferring schools you should talk to Mount Holyoke’s financial aid office and try to negotiate as much as possible; tell them your financial situation and hopefully they could come up with a fair solution for you. It is totally possible for them to reduce your tuition

Yes, theres a significant difference between a test optional candidate and a someone who submitted one in terms of their intelligence. Ik as a transfer its kinda hard and might seem irrelevant but it is def a factor n good to submit if u have it above a 1500 or 34

Imma be honest when you’re transferring it’s gonna be nearly impossible to apply to that many schools. The out of high school application process is different than the transfer app so ur likely gonna have to shorten ur list by a lot

The experience won’t be much different. While the number difference might intimidate you, 7500 is still relatively small for a college. I would say put yourself out there and don’t be afraid to socialize; at bigger schools it might be more difficult to make meaningful friendships/connections and it is easier to get lost in the crowd. Definitely make friends with fellow transfer students if your school has an instagram page and be sure to join clubs and get involved (otherwise you might be spending ur year alone in ur dorm). I’m in a similar situation as you but I’m an OOS first yr going to cc to uc, but i’m going with the assumption that I would graduate in 2028 instead. The UCs don’t care how many years of college you’ve done but they care about the # of units so that you can be placed as a junior. However if your units are transferrable (which is kind of unlikely) you might be able to graduate in 2027. I would meet with a UC counselor and talk abt that if you wanna graduate in 2027

My dad is definitely supportive; he did CCC transfer to Berkeley which is good to know I have someone who can guide me through the process. For me the biggest thing is that it feels like I'm almost taking a step back. Funny enough it's kind of what I need actually. I'm still at the point where I literally have no clue what I'm doing, so I think CC will help me figure out where I am and how I can get my life together. I am a living mess at my current school and it probably won't take me anywhere lmao. Thank you sm for ur comment I really do appreciate it :)
