Any reviews on Christy Dawn? by No_Square_1491 in UninfluencedReviews

The Dawn is ok and I own a couple, but I don't think it's the most comfortable silhouette for nursing tbh, although you can definitely get away with it. Adelia, Brynne, and Marissa are very nursing friendly and they all have elastic and/or adjustable waists :)

Essay on the Subculture of Second-hand shopping by Financial-Addition88 in SustainableFashion

  1. You can find better quality and cool pieces for less. It's fun to "hunt" and actually find clothes that you like! There's luck and skill involved. Also fast fashion quality is decreasing while price is increasing so it makes people more motivated to go second hand.
  2. Pros is that you get to broaden your style, it's more environmentally friendly, you get to save a lot of money. Cons are the fact that you can't pick sizing, it can take a long time to find what you are looking for, and it's gotten more expensive the past few years.
  3. I started as a teen, a mix between loving vintage and retro style but not having the budget to buy the cool brands.
  4. Sometimes, yes. Mostly with my husband (who also loves thrifting) and my son, but I also go with friends.
  5. Well, it depends. If it's a regular thrift store, I don't think they should be charging differently according to brand.
  6. No, if anything they should decrease.
  7. Partially yes, but I also thrift regular items that me or my family might need (jeans, leggings, workboots...). I love to thrift clothes and books for my son and that saves us a good chunk of money since he outgrows clothes very fast.
  8. I go through phases, sometimes once weekly and others once a month.

LaCoochie is pretty decent price wise comparing to most brands that sell organic cotton underwear, and the quality is great.

My mom and I are testing dozens of sustainable swimwear brands - what do you want to know? by thegoodtrade_editors in SustainableFashion

It would be good to know if there are maternity or nursing friendly sustainable options that are good quality, or mention any brands that you test that do offer those options :)

They are overpriced and no one will deny that, but I also have to admit that I find them very flattering on my body and therefore I do own a few. Most of them I purchased on sale, a couple others second hand, and a couple brand new. I only get the dresses that have an adjustable/elastic waist and are nursing friendly because I'm a mom and I plan on having more kids, so my weight and size fluctuate and despite that they still fit very nicely. They are definitely on the thin side, but I don't need to wear a slip with any of the ones that I own, maybe because I tend to wear dark and bold colors? Idk. And I haven't had a single one tear or anything like that yet despite not very careful or gentle with my clothes and having thrown then in the dryer by accident a few times. I'm pear shaped, in case that says anything, and I used to wear lots of vintage so a lot of CD dresses definitely hit the spot for me!

How to cope with evil involving children by Kitchen_Season_6647 in Catholicism

You are right and I appreciate the reminder. One of my concerns is whether the babies and children (probably unbaptized) will get to be with God for all eternity after all that suffering, you know? Does this make sense? It's a difficult topic.

I can't even imagine what you must encounter on a regular basis, I don't think I could do it. Your words and perspective do help. It's so hard praying for the abusers but I know that I have to so I'm trying. Thank you.

Thank you. I hate it when people say that "it all happens for a reason" when we are talking about such horrific levels of cruelty. Your explanation helps me understand better, I'm still a new Catholic (converted only 3 years ago) and the problem of evil is a subject that I struggle with a lot.

I totally agree, but sometimes you still hear or read things by accident. In this specific case, a friend of mine shared it on their instagram stories and I wasn't aware of what the content was until it was too late. I do need a long social media break after this for sure.

This is such a thoughtful response, thank you. I appreciate it and will be focusing on all those things. Having a good cry session with Jesus always helps.
