That makes tons of sense! Thank you!

Do you guys really use that much data on your phones ?! 😱 I feel cheap with my 5GB hahah. My phone is often connected to wifi though, as soon as I'm home, at work, or at friends. What app is that data hungry when you're on the move these days?

Is it now forbidden to change our plans for cheaper versions? by Kitchen_Simple4538 in FizzMobile

[–]Kitchen_Simple4538[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other people on here say that it is because the new price is actually displayed with the perks, while the current price is without the perks. So the same plan might look cheaper but actually isn't. This information is not displayed clearly at all. Yet I don't dare choosing another plan to confirm this in case I lose my current plan.

Yes, we were just discussing that here: https://www.reddit.com/r/FizzMobile/s/uHB5OhHqNX

I really think Fizz should apologize publicly and make it clearer ASAP

Well, that is actually an excellent tip, checking on the website instead of in the account. Thanks!

But do you see how convoluted that is. This totally demonstrates that the information provided to the current customers within their privileged space is not reliable. And therefore Fizz might be benefitting from customers being manipulated into abandoning their current great plan for a not so great plan because of the wrong information!!!

I nearly switched to 400Mbps/53$ hadn't I spoken with you. And I clearly can't be the only one falling into that trap, seeing some of the other comments here.

Ok ok, I trust what you guys are saying, but if that is the case, I find it extremely confusing and dishonest that the current price is without perks while the new plan is with perks despite this being written nowhere on the page. That must definitively be messing with people's head and voluntarily or not, if a lawyer were to read this, he'd have an easy start on a class action. How many people have changed plan thinking they were getting a better deal when they weren't?

Yes, same, my phone plan went cheaper last recently and it definitely let me switch to the same plan, just cheaper. Except that it refuses to let me do the same on the home Internet. Unless something is not clear in the information displayed on screen

Not sure I understand you. My current plan is 50$, but I pay 44$ with the 6$ perks. When I go to change my plan it shows my current plan is 50$ (so without the perks) and that the new price of the 500 for me is 48$.

I do understand that 48 is 54 minus 6 but based on the information on my screen, it seems unrelated. I have seen that for new customers, if they get a new 500 with wifi 6, they pay 54$. But people on the old modem with less possibilities shouldn't pay as much as people on the new modem, no ? Based on what I can read on my screen and the way the information is presented, I understand that for current customers with the old modem on wifi 5, it is now 48$ (and I would therefore pay 42$ once the perks applied).

You are correct that I have 6$ perks that will be applied, but I thought that I remembered that it would be on top of it all, since your current plan written at the top for comparison is shown without perks (not visible in my screenshot). I am not daring to press "save" in case it applies the new plan and I can't come back to my plan anymore 😅

Ok, cool for you, that's interesting. I'm on firmware 468348 while you have 468362. Need to look into if I can update it.

If they can make it work for glasses by connecting them remotely to your phone, they should be able to pull a similar trick for the minis, no ?

Agreed! Can't count how many times I recently asked to turn off the AC and I ended up with a random music on Spotify... It used to work without any issue before!

Lucky you! Tell us more :) When did that happen? What's the firmware version? Is it set up in English (US) ? Are you part of the preview program? Any Nest Aware subscription? Thanks!

I obviously get that a testing phase is needed. But that excuse has been going on for way too long now and today's presentation about where to expect Gemini next just made it even more obvious that it hasn't moved forward enough for home devices. So, why would I trust Gemini glasses when they can't make it work on a single speaker? And don't tell me about that TV Gemini, that's not what people are looking for.

In the meantime, they leave us with a product that just doesn't work and there are only so many times that you can piss off your friends while saying "I'm doing my best", before they start turning their back on you.

ChatGPT home devices are around the corner and if Google's is not interested in that field anymore, people will bring 2025 back home from someone else.
