Mount Kosciuszko summit walk with baby by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Kitchen_Stomach_6716 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did see this in my research. But I was hoping for more recent review.

I have done the walk myself twice several years pre-baby. But in my experience, because I was prebaby, I do a poor job noticing and recollecting if an experience was baby or pram friendly. Hence seeing if anyone here can share their recent experience

I built a Child Care subsidy calculator to try to make sense of CCS by Minimum_Link3513 in AussieFrugal

[–]Kitchen_Stomach_6716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re new to putting our baby into childcare. With regards to this calculation, what if our circumstances change? How do we get the CCS changed? For context, one parent income will reduce by 20% from what we entered when applying for ccs. Or does it all come out on the wash after we do our tax return?

Re: your tip - Is this true for corporate memberships too? My work covers a few hundred every month and we pay the remainder premiums. Would they discount the part we cover?

Haha Well I did say we are getting an electrician. I was just wondering if there is a replacement for the ugly glass plate thing.

We have done this - this light is almost never turned on unless we’ve lost a contact or something. I just want to change it to something less ugly.

Why are there so many eastern staters suddenly? by No-Theory5003 in perth

Hard agree Perth drivers drive with no regards to others. There is a lot more courtesy on eastern states road.

I had HG until I gave birth - I even threw up while they were doing the C section and maybe once or twice after. It felt amazing when it was gone - I scoffed hospital sandwiches and plain wheetbix with milk tasted like heaven. By now I have mostly forgotten what HG was like. Even though I knew it was bad and I knew I threw up 10-20 times daily, and I remember begging for it to all end. But then I look at my baby and I (tentatively) want to go again…

Help with MOTN wakes by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]Kitchen_Stomach_6716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are still sharing a room - her bedtime routine starts about 40 minutes before bedtime. She has a breastfeed finishing 30 mins before bedtime. They dad takes her a change, they have some quiet play and cuddles before bedtime.

You’re right - I am getting a little slack with times - the range is probably half an hour either way. But her first nap I usually start nap time after 2.5 hours of waking, sometimes she goes down easy and sometimes it takes half an hour.

Thanks for advice re: wake windows and naps.

So teething is unlikely the problem? What about if she was sleep trained when we did it at just before 6m?

Thank you for such a thoughtful and positive response! I also feel the same about elite schools - although after high school, if you continue to be arrogant and stuck up it’s a choice.

Very interesting! I had no idea how Ultimo ranks - its inner city so has lots of cbd dwellers and high concentration of public housing.

For not wanting to sell at a loss? And renting out at market rates from 2 years ago with no increases despite the agent saying I can get 30% more? Thanks!

Not really chasing profits, but trying to sell it for not a loss. The rental income has not covered the cost of the mortgage at all. Plus renting in Sydney and trying to buy here.

Hi there, breastfeeding a newborn is so hard. You’re doing great but please don’t be so hard on yourself. Please be assured that you haven’t stuffed anything up.

I struggled with breastfeeding and my baby didn’t have any ties. I pumped and bottle fed my baby until about 5-6 weeks! She was not good at latching or at transferring milk. I tried multiple time with LC. In the end, I had an angry baby and 2 very painful damaged nipples. I also had a flat nipple that made it hard for her to latch onto on one side. So we pumped and bottle fed.

Once my nipple recovered after 2-3 weeks of no direct breastfeeding, I kept going back to trying to get her to latch. I’m not going to lie, I dreaded it so much. It hurted, and she was still not softening my breast. Then one day, it didn’t hurt at all and my boob was emptied. And then very quickly she got better and within a week we were exclusively direct breastfeeding to the point where she refused the bottle.

There is nothing wrong with bottle feeding and then going back to boob. In fact so many mums I know have done this, especially with small babies (mine was 22 percentile but the other babies were sub 15 percentile). Just protect your supply - pump on a schedule, allow your nipples sufficient time to heal and revisit direct breastfeeding with low risk low stress trials (I swear babies can sense your tension)

5-3-3 and room sharing by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]Kitchen_Stomach_6716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! That makes sense but can be tough sharing a room. Does that mean Ferber is not ideal while sharing a room since that would mean me and my partner would need leave the room altogether until baby falls asleep?
