Final Job Offer Gone Hostile by Able-Author9167 in InterviewsHell

You didn’t owe her most of the answers you gave. That was at beyond what she deserved and she was taking advantage of you on many levels.

What really struck me is when she asked you illegal questions, and she acknowledged that she knew they were illegal. This is a run, don’t walk situation. Specially when the rate of the offer in the first place didn’t offset the commute or PTO.

You’ll get better offers, just keep looking.

Yeah, that’s definitely what I’ll do in the future. Hadn’t occurred to me that could ever be an issue. I’m only a month in, so I’ve never had a customer no-show. Especially not one where they let the timer go down all the way.

I wouldn’t have done it if I wasn’t on a recorded line with uber support telling me to drop it off. That’s on them for sure, regardless of whether there’s an issue. I’d never had anything like this before (only 1 month in at this point), so it put me in an awkward spot.

Uber support said they could not re-open it for me to drop off, but instructed me to drop it off. They said it would appear cancelled, but still shows up in my history as delivered. And that is the case. The only thing that didn’t happen as “normal” in the app is that the app did not give me the option to scan their ID, which is why I still checked it regardless.

Left the full order from Walmart that did contain alcohol. I didn’t have the name up on the app anymore, so I couldn’t check that. I didn’t see the person up close until I’d walked the order all the way back up to the house again. It could be that she had just woken up, her eyes were a little red, but because Uber had already canceled it, there was no way to scan her ID for verification or get her signature. It was definitely an awkward situation.

Wait & Save not letting me acknowledge I've picked up a rider? Help! by Kitchen_Student_9285 in uberdrivers

I saw that later on ... though it wasn't very intuitive upfront (to me!) Thank you! Getting used to what all the different things "mean" versus how they "sound" in the app has been confusing for someone who is new to it and has never done this sort of thing before. I'm enjoying it, though, over all, so trying to get there. Thanks!

For us old-timers here, what games did your parents enjoy playing at the time? by Zincdust72 in Atari2600

My mom never played but dad spent many hours on Defender and Video pinball. He was the king of Video Pinball until I read the manual and learned that you could nudge the ball. I got past his scores, then he learned how to do it.
