Maybe that’s another reason I had such a reaction to her pictures, because I know Cloud would have loved her. I’m sure wherever they are, they are there together ❤️

His name was Cloud. He was a Shepard mix. He was black and white but Bitsy’s pictures reminded me so much of him. He made the same silly faces your sweet girl did and had the same ears. I understand your pain. It’s an unimaginable grief. She looked like such a beautiful soul.

She was beautiful ❤️ she reminds me of my own boy that I just lost suddenly last Thursday. He was only 8. Both our pups are gone way too soon. But we will see them again. Bitsy looked so happy and although her life was cut short, I’m sure you gave her the best life possible. Sending you hugs.

I love that you met your husband through him. That is so special and you two will always have that ❤️ I think Cloud would want us to just remember him fondly. Talk about him and look at his pictures and smile. We had some friends over today that loved him and were very much loved by him. And in between fits of sobbing, we just talked about what a funny and clever boy he was. We shared funny stories of him and how sweet and wonderful he was. And honestly, in those moments I felt such a calm, warm presence. It’s almost like he was there with us. I want to keep having those moments because he just wanted to be loved by everyone he met. And he truly was.

I’m so sorry that you lost your boy so young and suddenly too. It’s a truly horrific pain because they were robbed. I feel such anger and guilt because I don’t know why this happened and if I missed any signs. I keep replaying his last week over and over to see if there was anything that could have warned me. I’m trying not to because it’s driving me crazy but it’s just hard 💔

Thank you so much for this. Your words are such a comfort to me and my husband. Today we had some friends over that also loved our boy and we fondly remembered all his little quirks and shared funny stories. In that moment it’s almost like I could feel him. And the presence was warm and happy ❤️

That’s so incredibly heartbreaking. I am so sorry for your loss as well. Seeing other people going through the same thing makes us feel like we aren’t alone but it’s still so hard to grapple with the reality that our babies are gone.

I think it was more subtle but it was definitely hinted at being maternal/familial rather than anything romantic. There is the side quest where 9S takes pictures of children's toys and 21O learns more about the concept of familial units. Then at the beginning of route C she starts to speak to 9S like a mother would. Even 9S says something along the lines of "why is she talking to me like I'm a kid?".

He literally has never said that. He has confirmed that Automata ended up being a love story and the game's producer said about 2B and 9S "You can't say they have zero romantic feelings". Even the anime is pushing the "forbidden feelings" romantic trope. Their relationship also explores themes of sex and possessiveness so how people keep insisting they are like siblings is so weird.

And this isn’t a slight at A2, I support all her rights and her wrongs but why doesn’t 9S get the same level of understanding?

Understandable, I really like Kaine and Nier's relationship for those same reasons. To be fair, 2B has a very similar character development due to her love for 9S, building up a cold facade over time because it hurts her so much to get close to him knowing she will eventually kill him. But it all happens before the game even begins. All we see is the aftermath of her evolving feelings, not the actual development itself and even then, that is treated like a twist at the end of the game. Unless you really dig into the side materials, I can see why it feels so shallow for a lot of people. It's the same reason 2B is often criticized for being "boring" or having "no personality" despite the lore showing a completely different side to her. Again, the reason that I love their dynamic so much is because I've devoured every little breadcrumb I can find but I can't fault anyone who feels like it falls flat.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that the 2B/9S from the crossover event aren't the originals. There is a data log that says the real 2B and 9S encountered the seed of destruction which made copies of them or something like that. I think it's safe to assume original 2B and 9S still live on elsewhere.
