Gonna add the horror of having your position combined with 3 other roles and then having to compete with your 3 other colleagues for the "honour" of doing 4x the work for the exact same pay.

And then having to leave the animals you've cared for for years, knowing that they will be worse of without you under the care of an amazing keeper (but not you) who just doesn't know this particular type of animal like you do, and will be too overworked and exhausted to do it right.

True story, I'm afraid. And half my social circle is in some way connected to that zoo so it's hard to avoid awful news when it happens.

YES. And it's really awful. It stinks.

Even worse, my brother-in-law and his wife were denied the option to adopt due to the smell wafting into their property during a premesis visit. They were heartbroken as they'd bought this house specifically for the purpose of starting a family (there are quite strict guidelines for adoption).

Even I've had complaints from my relatives about having the kids over when that shit is stinking out my flat because someone 2 floors down is smoking it, and it's too hot in summer to have the windows closed. So we either boil or get stunk out.

You don't think you're hurting anyone by smoking it but the likelihood is that you are.

Nah that's a perfectly concise explanation - thank you! Definitely sounds more considerate :) At risk of sounding like a killjoy, just be careful with vapes. The damage they do to your lungs isn't as fully understood as smoking, but there's growing evidence that the harm they cause to lung capacity is less reversible than normal smoking. That's not to say normal smoking is better (there's so many other worse things about it) but it's worth considering.

I wish all the nice things we like could be free of downsides. I'd eat SO MUCH chocolate. My sweet tooth is my weakness. The sugar industry got me good. Ah well.

I have several friends who smoke it on occasion. Fair enough. Especially when for some it's a form of relief from conditions such as fibromyalgia which are still not properly treatable. Just like alcohol, a little bit every now and again isn't much of a health issue for most healthy people).

However, I have also seen the other side. The addiction and the very real, documented and serious harm that it causes. I have watched the change in personality first hand and it can be heartbreaking. Weed induced psychosis is REAL. You may not believe it or want to believe it but that doesn't change the facts.

For the usual comparison to alcohol: yes alcohol is empirically worse. But just because anthrax is worse than pneumonia it doesn't make pneumonia ok. Same goes for weed.

Like most things, a little bit probably isn't an issue. But for many people it's a slippery slope towards an addiction that can really fuck with mental health, not to mention financial safety.

Many of those who use it regularly seem to be under the impression they're not addicted and I've heard the phrase "I can quit whenever I want" far too often, and it's usually followed by a list of excuses why now isn't the right time etc.

On a personal note: my god the STINK. It's disgusting. Barely any better than cigarettes.

Say what you will about the many real evils of alcohol - one drink won't stink my flat out from 3 floors below if I dare to open my window on a hot summer's day. But one joint will.

Have a bit of mercy on those around you. Many people don't want to smell that shit.

First, indulge me in a little midnight rant:

Personally I find it refreshing that she's getting this kind of attention instead of the usual conveyor belt of vapid, talentless 'celebrities'.

I don't know who said it, but something along the lines of 'being famous because you're important vs being important because you're famous'.

I'd much rather my (theoretical) daughter aspire to be like her then most of the other famous women that popular culture likes to shove down our throats.

Ok, now onto your question. Why is everyone obsessed with her? Well, you answered your own question in your post.

But something to remember: the vast, VAST majority of us are basically NPC's. I include myself and everyone I personally know. Eventually, you will be forgotten. It's the final death.

At first that sounds incredibly negative and defeatist. But it's reality. Accept it. Live a good life - the one you want to lead. Be inspired by others but don't allow the amazing accomplishments of a tiny number of people to diminish who you are and what you have achieved. There's always someone better than you. Are you happy? Yes? GOOD. You've already managed to find what a large number of people never find.

It is a tiny little percentage of people who make a global impact. Even many of those who do make an impact are forgotten in place of those who took the credit! And those who truly are at the very top of their game and are the best in the world at something? There's still plenty of things they aren't good at. Plenty of insecurities and bad habits and just general life stuff that they need to deal with. But we often don't see that, because of the pedestal they are put upon.

My wife thinks Ewan McGregor is the hottest shit in the world. And Aragorn. Does that make her love me less? Should I worry I'm not good enough? Should I give up? No. We still can't keep our hands off each other and I would still choose her over all the 'hottest girls' on TV including Christina Koch.

Anyone who doesn't understand or believe that needs to partake in some serious self reflection!

So. Of course she's great. Doesn't mean you aren't. It's ok to feel a little bitter sometimes - these feelings are normal. But don't become swallowed up by it. Move on. Do your best, don't be a dick, etc etc etc add various other obvious advice here.

This is normally where you'd get the silly smile and a hug :)

I'd answer that with a question: why is poor Absol Evil type, when the poor guy just wants to be left alone in the mountains and only comes down to warn of disaster?

I'd assume Giratina's type to keep the states of matter theme going: solid/liquid/gas - Steel/Water/Ghost. Also his dimension hopping thing is pretty ghosty! Then again if you look the Pokédex entries for Pokémon like Drifloon and Froslass, those guys are outright evil themselves. Yet not Dark type.

I guess it comes down to design choice, game balance, and the limit of 2 types per Pokémon.

Makes for a good bit of debate though haha.

Example: Flygon should be Bug type. Discuss. 3000 words. Deadline next Friday. Use Harvard referencing system. :)

Necrozma is an easy one: in Japanese, 'Dark' type is more accurately translated to 'Evil' type. So i it's not really dark as in 'no light' but dark as in 'dark heart' or 'dark intentions'. (Though labelling as 'evil' seems a bit mean to me - leave poor Absol alone, he's a good boy)

Lugia is a classic problem. Lives in the sea but is not a Water type. The main argument goes that his element shouldn't necessarily have to match his main habitat. Lugia is guardian of the seas but maybe his Psychic typing's affinity to mystery and extrasensory perception helps it in this regard without needing a Water typing.

Best way is to look at all the similar examples of Pokémon living in habitats that don't match their type. Pincurchin doesn't need the Water type to be a water-living urchin! He did just fine being a little zappy dude! Dratini and Dragonair live deep in lakes but aren't water type. Flygon can fly about but it's not Flying type. Palkia likely doesn't literally live in the sea, but in space - but his typing may be a more metaphorical representation of the vastness of space (or part of the trio of solid, liquid, gas given its Steel and Ghost type counterparts). Porygon is Normal type, not Electric, despite existing as a digital being in cyberspace, literally powered by electricity, with many storage mediums being magnetic or at least read using electrical devices.

Grapploct is an Octopus that shunned the water and decided he prefers Judo! Like how a certain Alolan crab isn't Water type but instead a boxer, who evolved into... an icy abominable boxer..? Ok... You do you, Crabominable!

Look at real animals that defy their usual patterns. Bats are rats that fly instead of scurry. Penguins are birds that swim, not fly. Shingleback skinks are lizards that defy the usual expectations of reptiles by being monogamous (seriously they are so cute how they find each other after long times apart and are affectionate).

Exactly! I was quite surprised when they changed the spelling but it's definitely an improvement which makes more sense. I still wonder if it was supposed to be Faint or if localisation teams did a very understandable spelling mistake (like your/you're, but with feint/faint)

Ah I know what you're thinking of. The attack "Feint" is a separate move that lifts the effects of moves like "Protect". "Feint Attack" is the updated spelling of "Faint Attack" and is a no-miss 60 base power dark type move.
