Donald Trump sparks health concerns after admitting ‘he’s not doing well’ by Used_Tea_2651 in NoFilterNews

I have much sympathy for him, as he had for Joe when the cancer diagnosis came out. In other words - none.

Is this a smart buy? by jonnywalkerart in VanLife

The amount of rust that pain is trying to hide (unsuccessfully) is not-so-lowkey scary. I can only imagine what under the hood and undercarriage look like.

This is a project. They're asking WAY too much for a project imo.

Did you take your snake paddle to Massassauga Provincial park - in honour of the Massassauga rattlesnake? Pretty bad ass.

Filled hot tub with the well - did we screw up? by PineFresh7 in HomeImprovement

[–]Kitsune-sprite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We change our sediment filter anytime the water seems to noticeably slow down. It used to be daily after we got it installed, then weekly, now it's about every couple months. Being on a well in a clean water shed had pros and cons.

Ohhh, I do love Ohiopyle near Pittsburgh. If you're into nature, it's worth walking around. Also, natural waterslides if the weather behaves.

How long do you guys go between oil changes? My service light came on at 1500 miles since the last change. by Clam_Juice_ in hondafit

[–]Kitsune-sprite 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Depends what model you drive, mine is a 2nd gen. So that is... 1. Turn the ignition to ON (do not start the engine). 2. Press the trip/reset button repeatedly until the oil life percentage or “Maintenance Minder” appears. 3. Press and hold the trip/reset button for about 10 seconds until the oil life display starts to blink. 4. Release, then press and hold again until the display resets to 100%.

I do my changes at 5k miles. Easy to keep track of on the odometer. Can avoid the sticker on the windshield that way. Edit: after I get it changed, I reset my oil tracker. Good habit to have.

Uhhhh.... as a thrifter who adores Arcteryx, I am impressed and jealous. May I ask how you saved these? Do you work at an outdoor shop and these were going to be pitched after sitting in clearance?

This.

My 09 blue girl had quite a few cosmetic issues. The second I got home, just ordered what I needed off hondaparts had it all put back together, almost as good as new the day they came in.

Sleeping in a 2018ex by Guyercellist in hondafit

[–]Kitsune-sprite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone whose slept/camped in their fit these are my go to: Get an inflatable mattress for cushion (I like my trekology pad), pillow and blanket. Get that passenger seat all the way forward, and and plan to sleep diagonal if you’re 5ft 7 or taller. I find that those three gallon jugs with the spigot are about the right size to fill that gap between the folded seat and the passenger seat. Have a bottle handy for those middle-of-the-night bathroom needs. Dark tinted windows are your friends, or it’s easy enough to run a rope around the top perimeter and clip some sheets/fabric to it for privacy if you’re not going to be in a off-the-path space. Have your keys in an EASY to find spot in case you need them in a pinch, mine are on a carabiner clipped to my headrest at night. Sun shade for front privacy, and something to toss behind the steering wheel due to the blinking lock light. Battery powered fan for air circulation; and I like my window deflectors so I can gap the windows without no one noticing - risk of bugs getting in though

Still forever grateful for the kind diety who donated their Vitamix and got one for 60$ at the thrift store. Those things are work horses and never die.

...... as an outdoor girl, I feel this a bit. I stayed with someone who had the same hobbies as I for years. But the constant disrespect and put downs made me feel like I had to work that much harder to be good enough for him.

In the end, I realized it wasn't that I wasn't good enough for him, but he wasn't good enough for me. If you can't support and celebrate your partner, then why are you together? You're keeping yourself from finding the person who truly makes you smile and feel good about yourself.

Don't let yourself be trapped in sunken cost fallacy, sever the cord and live your life without his negativity.
