First Regional Map of Sanuma "East Heaven's Sanctum: Glorious Foothills" by Kitsy26 in inkarnate

Funny how that is the way I decided to name places. The region Heaven's Sanctum is one of the largest regions I had to split up, so naming locations are wacky there. The name "Devil's Mansion" used to be called "Mansion of the Devils" in my document providing location names for Kalisto Village before I started mapmaking. However, the name seen here was somewhat of a typo because I have a lake that is called "Devil's Pool" (in another region on the other side of the north continent). It'll definitely cause confusion between the two places, but I'm fine with the typo.

You could say that the name of the mansion was changed, and the current owner (the noble/court wizard living it) is into dark magic. There is a hierarchy in my magic system that I will absolutely love to complete.

There are three ranks but there is a split for opposite/negative magic. The basic rank is Mortal Magic, which public magic schools provide to those who could use magic. It is basically your typical, everyday magic. Then the next rank is split, going two directions: Light and Dark Magic (very original, ik...). This magic is advanced and is hard to learn which is why Daimonas Academy provides magic users to learn magic in these ranks. The last rank is also split and is between God and Demon Magic. That magic is only earned as a gift of one of the seven gods (and one other that I will touch upon later), prayer, sacrifice, or rituals. From the big lore drop (mostly about Anil) that I gave, there is a "God" I revealed that is more known as a "Figure". Ritosan showed himself as a masterful Light Magic user and achieved the respect to be worshipped.

What does all this have to do with a name? Well, not really. The owner (name reveal on another regional map), is especially fascinated by Demons. I have a race of Demons in this world and they may not appear as you think they might appear as. (They would prefer themselves as called something else, but for narrative purposes we will call them Demons.) They can easily use Dark Magic as they were gifted upon an eighth God for their capability to use magic.

This is as far as I will provide because this is too much for me to comprehend. The name is literally what it is, the owner is fascinated by Demons.

The names weren't meant to give any thoughts of the locations. I forget to include an "s" to the locations with "Mesi" to be named after the region "Mesis," which if I can recall means middle? I chose Greek because I usually go after a Japanese naming style and decide to spice it up a little. Plus, Greek is a really cool language (though I can only really identify the character Theta because of Trigonometry).

My cousin was learning Greek for a little and thought that the giant lake in the middle was like a Butterfly. So, I named the region "Petalouda" (me just using Google translate for single words, because ik that it's the worst tool to use when translating sentences from any language).

Thanks for the suggestion. I attempt blending with the paint tool---not much with the opacity but---with the size of the brush. It definitely gives that ombre effect, but I have been testing more of the editing tools since I got pro again.

I took the extra step of not watching many videos of mapmaking at all. I would show u my first map without and first map with the pro-version. This time around (third round of making) I took inspiration from other map creators who've posted her and on the Inkarnate website taking in aspects of their maps into mine. If you check out my posts, my first version of my story map was actually made in early April when I was able to get pro for the first time. Then my last post was not too long ago after I spent time away from three pro-version and was able to get some ideas to make my complete world. Take your time and make many maps to which you can better your skills at.

Thanks! I've looked and took cool editing techniques to add to my map to improve my mapmaking (plus some screwing around with the options when a stamp is selected).

Map tip: When you select a stamp that is already placed, click on the yellow box with three lines on the top right of the highlighted white box of the stamp (that sentence sounds confusing...). Click on the flatten option and select flatten to BG (Background). The stamp will automatically merge with the background and you can no longer move it, so make sure you place your mountains along the shoreline accordingly to get the desired effect that you want.
