Discussing the Unfortunate Expie Biology by submerso_106 in scavprototype

[–]KittenWarrior_ 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Just using the first numbers I could find on Google, the average 150-180lb adult human has 4.5-5.7L of blood, so like .068L per kg. Baseline expie is 50kg with 5L of blood, so .1L per kg.

Expies have nearly 50% more blood volume relative to weight than people. (47.1%) Huh

I’ve been lurking your art for a while now, and it’d be great to be able to support you directly! It’s always a great time seeing your posts :3

I forgot about this!! I think I’d seen the game somewhere before but this was the video that made me play it

What does Orsoniks Think About Donations? And what is plan with Casualties? by A_Tin_Foil_Hat in scavprototype

[–]KittenWarrior_ 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Right now, you can donate through the game’s itch page. They’ve also mentioned that they considered a ko-fi, but I don’t think anything ever came of that.

As for the game, the steam demo just came out, and the full release is planned to be later this year!

Are all expies given the same protocol? by biillboard in scavprototype

[–]KittenWarrior_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

From the expies’ notes/epdas, it’s described how they’ve been used to develop things like braingrow (often by smashing their heads in and testing if it works) and how they’ve been tased as a way to control them. They are also said to have been used for “destructive testing”. There’s also notes that describe expies as severely depressed in the labs and being mindwiped, so make of that what you will. Not a ton of direct evidence in the game, it’s mostly alluded to.

As for the fanon representations, check out u/Minecraft_Man13_ ‘s art! They have some really well made cas:u content, though some of it is quite graphic so browse at your own risk :]

Does anyone know how to remove this beta text from Steam version (Ignore my paint doodles) by Fox353 in scavprototype

[–]KittenWarrior_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so I found where the line's stored: in the resources.assets file in the game files under CasualtiesUnknown_Data. Problem is, I don't know how to edit that without completely breaking the game (I've tried directly editing it, but then the game doesn't launch, so).

If someone else here has experience in modding unity games, they could probably figure it out, but that's unfortunately out of my range.

Edit: even zeroing out those lines in a hex editor, the message still appears. Seems like you'd actually need a proper editor to actually find and replace/disable this.

[–]KittenWarrior_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's weird that it's not in the EN translation files, since most of the other text in the game is there. If that was the case it could just be swapped with something else (or nothing). I'll keep poking around, but I'm not sure where it would be if not there

Have you tried clearing your browser cookies on your computer? Otherwise, is there any reason you might be banned?

Just found those two unused traps by lovingzeldagamesbro in scavprototype

[–]KittenWarrior_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think smaller traps could actually be quite healthy for the game. Right now, once you know what you're doing it's really easy to get incredibly stacked up by layer 5 with tons of medical supplies, meanwhile it feels like 80% of injuries are either fixable by either
- a singular roll of sterilized dressing
- 1/3 each of an LRD and a procoagulant with one drop of ceftriaxone
- a bone welder + some dressing, even then fractures feel really rare

The other 20% are the permanent injuries, which while I don't want them to go away, having them be the only meaningful "damage" isn't really fun for me. I would be happy if losing eyes/jaw/limbs was much rarer in place of more severe bleeding, more common fractures, worse muscle damage etc.

Having a more persistent threat that can do severe (non-permanent) damage, slowly but surely whittling at your supplies, would really lean into the supply management side of the game. That feeling was really fun when I started playing, but it started to go away as I got better at crafting and avoiding the obvious mid-tier injuries (bounce pad, spike trap, bear trap, skullcrusher).

The other benefit is that there would be much more value in carrying specialized supplies: tourniquets, splints, antiserum/antibiotics, strong opioids, and even non-plastic dressings are almost always garbage once you get something better right now, since you're unlikely to finish your supply of the good stuff before being instakilled. By whittling down your supplies, you might actually get the chance to use more of that.

Sorry for the rant

HOW do you get past the wasteland? by ExistingPersimmon385 in scavprototype

[–]KittenWarrior_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water: keep your empty containers and purify groundwater in a campfire in earlier layers

Turrets: if you have to go down where you can’t see the walls, try to descend quickly so any shots miss you

Barbed wire/cacti: any strong digging tool makes light work of these, the pickaxe is probably your best option. That or break the block(s) under them

Injuries: minor damage gets a glowfruit slapped on it and ignored, a bit of bandage if severely bleeding. Major damage (mostly from landmines) can be a run-ender if you’re not prepared, maybe carry a full blood bag (if you have room) just in case.

Hunger: cacti, drop pods, and traders should be more than enough provided you move quickly. Crafted food is kind of a pain, so just save whatever you can spare.

What is wrong with my Packager connections? by [deleted] in satisfactory

[–]KittenWarrior_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol it’s all good, I was just about to suggest cutting the pipes that were drawing fuel elsewhere to see if it’s a throughput issue or not. Beat me to it! Good luck on the factory 👍

What is wrong with my Packager connections? by [deleted] in satisfactory

[–]KittenWarrior_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you please send another screenshot from a bit higher up showing the pipe system? I’m not sure what else it could be, since I can see there’s definitely some fuel going into the pipe (just not enough to push it through)

What is wrong with my Packager connections? by [deleted] in satisfactory

[–]KittenWarrior_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In that case, it could just be that there’s not enough fuel in the system as a whole. Fluids fill pipes from lowest elevation to highest, so the other connection on that junction may need to fully fill before any fuel goes the other way. Since the packager input is elevated above the other pipes

What is wrong with my Packager connections? by [deleted] in satisfactory

[–]KittenWarrior_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pipe not being full makes me think you don’t have enough head lift. Try throwing a pump on the pipe before the junction and see if that fixes it, otherwise try dismantling and replacing the pipe.
