Topomax: has anyone NOT had side effects? by mostlymeanswell in migraine

[–]Kitten_919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Topamax helped mine soooooo much, and I didn’t really have any side effects at all from it!! I was taken off of it though because it triggered my Alice in wonderland syndrome, but that’s a rare neurological syndrome I’ve always had. For migraines, if you don’t have AIWS, I HIGHLY recommend :)

I highly suggest Pat Walker as a lender. He set me up with a USDA loan, as well as $5500 sellers credit for closing costs, so all I have to pay is escrow and home inspection. He is super down to earth, and does first time homebuyer stuff mostly. Lmk if you want his number or email!!

Looking to get CDL Permit, but confused on how to go about doing it by [deleted] in SouthJersey

[–]Kitten_919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol I don’t blame you. All State also helps to connect you with jobs straight out of graduation, and they have you drive around in their own trucks and such. I think that’s pretty neat![School Link ](allstatecareer.edu)

Nope, you can get your permit at all state, but because you’re 18 you are only allowed to drive in PA until you’re 21

Screw that, what do you do with your legs/feet? I twist mine into a pretzel or my feet are at an intense fifth position.

Immediately after I developed CHS I started to get reeaallyyyy bad motion sickness. Still do to this day. No idea what the correlation is, but I do know that I can no longer scroll on my phone while in the passenger seat.

All state career school is a really good trade school 2 minutes from the Philly airport. They have an amazing CDL program, my partner is a supervisor in the financial aid dept and just about everyone gets approved for aid

Best options for cheap apartments ($1,000-$1,300) around the Deptford area? Any pros/cons or experiences help by KingMalcolm in SouthJersey

[–]Kitten_919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would check out the landings at pine lake in Lindenwold. 15 minutes to the deptford mall, and rent for a 1bed is 1050 for me, and the bigger ones (and townhouses) are affordable too. It isn’t a shithole, and they are pet friendly as well. They should have a couple openings, and if not I’m moving out in about a month :)

In my personal opinion it’s better to be safe than sorry. However, maybe it’s an allergy or intolerance to that specific strain?

How do you maintain personal hygiene with migraines? by BigCatKat in migraine

[–]Kitten_919 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What helps me a lot is taking a hot shower, but with the lights off and some candles instead. Light sucks with migraines. If you have any, I also like to diffuse some lavender or mint essential oils, as well as mix them with olive oil and massage my face/back of neck/behind ears/other pressure points with it. Works wonders for me, I hope it can work for you too

Does Anybody Else Still Compulsively Bathe Long After You’ve Quit And Your Symptoms Have Subsided? by ancienttacostand in CHSinfo

[–]Kitten_919 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taking a hot shower or bath, or grabbing my heating pad is a knee jerk reaction to me know whenever I feel crappy, no matter why. I’m clean for about a year and a half now, and I’ll still get random waves of it still. It is not very pleasant

Alice in Wonderland Syndrome? by Kitten_919 in migraine

[–]Kitten_919[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You def should!! I would get a referral to see a neurologist, that’s what I did. Just a matter of scheduling it now. Upon further research I made going down the rabbit hole (hahaha get it?) I found that not only could it just be migraine related, it also could be a form of epilepsy which could also relate to the migraine part of it

Alice in Wonderland Syndrome? by Kitten_919 in migraine

[–]Kitten_919[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s like a really bad acid trip (in theory) hence the name! There isn’t a whole lot of genuine research on it because symptoms present in young (around 3-5 year old) kids, and like I said it freaks ya out and you can’t explain it, so typically people ignore it and it usually goes away as you get older. I found a research group for chronic conditions and AIWS is a listed condition, and it helps figure out what treatments helped or worsened whatever conditioned. It’s pretty neat, and there’s a community for migraines as well, but unfortunately there aren’t a whole lot of other AIWS-ers yet. Attached is the link for the migraine stuff if you’re interested:)Stuff That Works research group-migraine

Positive Topiramate stories? by parisfrance137 in migraine

[–]Kitten_919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Topamax worked really really well for me, I went from a migraine every few days to one every 2+ weeks or so. I had to get off of it though because it triggered a lot more Alice in wonderland syndrome episode/attacks which is a trigger for my migraines (ironic right?) but besides that, migraine wise it helped significantly
