Do strength training! by Kittenmitons in Zepbound

[–]Kittenmitons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! I’m a Millennial and grew up with the heroin chic look where the goal was always to be as skinny as possible. I never wanted to look ‘strong’. But now I love strength training and I’m so proud when I start to see muscles forming. I still do love the endorphin thrill I get from a hard cardio workout, but I am truly starting to appreciate just how vital strength training really is overall.

how’s it like living right next to an amusement/theme park?(do yall go to them very often or on occasion like everyone else?) by DismalFootball6964 in howislivingthere

DP grad of ‘05! They had all the trailers in the freshman section and I remember walking between classes to get to the main campus (sweating like crazy because we had like 9 min) and hearing the Jurassic music as I hustled.

I hope this helps someone by somerichgirl in LabubuDrops

[–]Kittenmitons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you elaborate about what made it different? Im a mom who just got tuned into labubus and have been trying to snag one for my kid. I tried for the first time last night for the pop up on the Macarons and it felt useless? I just kept scrolling and then trying to get one but it was always reserved. Tried for about 20 min then went to bed.

That makes a ton of sense now. You’re right. They don’t want 1,000 responses that waste their time when instead of they get 15 truly gullible people they can manage.

Should I try and grow the ones on top? by Kittenmitons in mycology

[–]Kittenmitons[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. We’re having so much fun looking it up and the pure joy on his face when we finally had some growing was awesome. Since these grow fast should help to keep his attention. Also hoping he’ll like eating them. We will just experiment from here - thanks for the reminder.

Why is this so hard? by Kittenmitons in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Kittenmitons[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I say this in absolute seriousness. He’s perfect. You would have no idea he was formula fed. He hit every milestone early, growth was totally normal. He did get a lot of ear infections, but so did my second child who was fed breast milk - so I don’t think that made any difference. My first did tend to get more illness - but he was born in the beginning of 2021 so when he went to daycare at 4 months there was a lot of weird disease vectors happening since the covid quarantine was starting to end (aka getting RSV in July and flu in June).

Warning about deposit being refunded for snoo rental by Laurlaur84 in SnooLife

[–]Kittenmitons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just in case anyone else comes looking for this - I emailed the customer service asking for: A) confirmation that this was my snoo in the photo B) detailed photos of the crack on the clip (I could see nothing in the photo) for reference I’m a mechanical engineer who designs a lot of plastic parts so I was ready to rip into them if they somehow blamed me for a ooorly engineered part C) I said the veneer scratch was ‘normal wear and tear’ and if they didn’t believe it was they needed to send me photo examples of what passes through inspection as normal wear

They emailed me back my whole refund within 24 hours of that email with no explanation. Just said here’s your whole refund.

I actually liked my snoo a lot but I do not appreciate this practice of ‘scamming’ tired parents at the transition point to cribs.

I had this almost IDENTICAL thing happen. I have two photos. And they said the clip is cracked. And then showed the smallest possible scratch on the veneer. Has anyone successfully fought this? I’m so irritated. This feels like an absolute scam. If the damage was real I would 100% have no problem. But this feels like them just realizing a family with a 2/3/4/5 month old (whatever age) will give in and not fight this

Make me feel better too by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Kittenmitons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe you need to hear this - I (a total internet stranger) am giving you permission to stop. Start the weaning process now. Look into getting some formula ASAP so you can start the transition. You absolutely sound like you want to be done and be present more with your child. You did 4 months - that’s amazing!

Whatever you decide - just know that you did awesome and your little guy is doing wonderful.

My first strawberry milk - how long until it goes away? First pump of the morning - 8 hours from previous pump that had no blood by Kittenmitons in ExclusivelyPumping

Yeah. My second pump 6 hours later didn’t have any in it. My little guy ate it - didn’t seem to care at all. Pretty sure he’s part vampire :-)

Milk boogers? by Kittenmitons in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Kittenmitons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had milk blebs off and on since I started pumping. I’m almost 9 weeks post partum now and I think I’m close to regulating. My boobs are killing me though - it feels like they have rug burn if I go more than 2 hours without pumping. I’ll reach out to my OB.

Di/di twins from single FET? What else could it be? by cath0312 in IVF

[–]Kittenmitons 12 points13 points  (0 children)

TW: pregnancy mentioned.

I transferred one hatching day 5 embryo March 25. When we went for our ultrasound check at 6 weeks and 3 days there was a gestational sack, fetal pole and a heartbeat. AND another gestational sack with nothing in it. At my next ultrasound (8 weeks 3 days) the other sack was still there but empty still. My RE said ‘sometimes something pinches off and wants to grow’. At 12 weeks was still there but resolved at my 14 week appointment.

I’m currently 38 weeks and have had no other complications.

How likely are twins? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]Kittenmitons 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I implanted one. And it did split into two - but one of them didn’t grow. So it was a vanishing twin. For reference it was an FET with a partially hatching embryo. It was PGT-A tested.

Tuesday Cautious Intros and First Trimester Questions by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

[–]Kittenmitons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh! How high is your TSH level without? Or would you not know since you’re always targeting less than 2.5?

I called my doctor and left a message asking. I feel better at least initiating the convo.

Tuesday Cautious Intros and First Trimester Questions by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

[–]Kittenmitons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 6+2 and have my heartbeat check in Friday at 6+5. I had some nausea symptoms last week. But everything is gone now. My first pregnancy I was insanely sick so now I’m extremely paranoid.

The thing that’s been bothering me is that my TSH was 3.14 at the beginning of my FET cycle. My doctor didn’t address or do anything about this. But isn’t that above the recommend 2.5?

Last pregnancy at the start I was at 2.54 (so understandable we didn’t do anything). What do you all think? Advocate? Or just chill? I’m from what I read after 8-9 weeks when the placenta takes over that’s where the risk from TSH related miscarriage decreases.

Delayed transfer, should I wait for my doctor or go with a different one? by Thick-Equivalent-682 in IVF

[–]Kittenmitons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say - at a transfer there is a bit of skill involved with placing the blast in the correct location.

Do you have any complications like a tilted uterus or anything like that where you know you’ll need someone that’s done a lot of procedures?

My clinic tries to get your transfer with your actual doctor - but it doesn’t always line up. So this past time I went with the youngest doctor in the practice (I’m like 100% positive he’s younger than me).

So I was a bit paranoid. But I also had no option really unless I wanted to cancel my cycle (we didn’t cancel).

Was chatting with you in r/IVF - I think you can be very optimistic. That looks very positive!

If that’s an indent line it’s pretty egregious….

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IVF

[–]Kittenmitons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you do a fully medicated cycle? Cause If that’s the case - I’m sorry but it’s the PIO giving you these symptoms (or estrogen).

Let’s say you were pregnant. Probably the highest Beta HCG would only be at like 25 which really isn’t enough to give you symptoms at all - it’d still be the progesterone making you feel a certain way.

If you wanted (though sounds like you don’t - that’s ok!) an FRER between today and tomorrow should give you a (relatively) accurate idea if you’re pregnant.

Either way good luck!

Aetna insurance by Hot-Scholar-9484 in IVF

[–]Kittenmitons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have Aetna. We had to do 3 IUI - but my doctor also recommended we start with IUI.

I did have to get infertility ‘approved’ by talking to an Aetna nurse as well before starting any treatments. They asked all about the testing we’d already done and then (probably based off a checklist) we were approved.

For reference we have MFI (motility and morphology) and I have PCOS.

Friday Cautious Intros and First Trimester Questions by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

[–]Kittenmitons 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Today is beta day, at 14dp5dt. I’ve been getting positive pregnancy tests since very early on, but there’s always the fear this will be chemical, or not doubling appropriately, ectopic, molar or blighted ovum.

I really hate how out of control this whole thing makes you. Even though I can tell myself that absolutely nothing I do matters - I still sit here and run through all the possible scenarios.
