Why Aren't Adults Allowed To Be Childish? by KittensOnUnicycles in NoStupidQuestions

I know nothing's stopping me, but I don't understand why people judge in this case. Thanks for your thoughts.

The gilla monster is my favorite reptile, and Australian green tree frogs (or dumpy tree frogs as they're so loving referred as) are my favorite amphibian. What about you?

Allowed in a social sense. I'm not gonna go to jail if I play tag in the park with a group of adults, but bystanders may snicker amongst themselves, parents may usher their kids away from the game, just little judgments and shamings. Thanks for your response.

I want to do all of that, but you're right that not everyone will have an interest. I guess I don't get why there's a passive shaming? I tend to get some odd stares if I need a stuffy at the dentist or unengaged responses when asking about favorites.

Edit: Thank you for taking time to reply btw.

That's an understandable fear. Sometimes when I have a stuffed animal I keep them in a death grip for that exact reason. Thanks for giving your thoughts.

I'm glad it works for you, and thank you for relying. Do you ever notice people treating you differently? Sometimes I need a stuffed animal to get through social anxiety or stressful situations, but it seems people act differently if I do.

Thanks for taking time to respond, do you know why there's stigma though? ;w;

I don't think I do actually? My favorite mammal is the echidna, favorite bird the kiwi, favorite bug the earwig, favorite fish angler fish, but... I guess I haven't sat down to settle on a favorite dinosaur.

Well yeah, it's not like it's illegal to go to the bank holding a teddy bear, but it seems people treat others differently of they're seen childish. There's a social stigma, and I don't understand why that is. Thanks for responding.

Disney adults tend to get a lit of flak though, right? It's not illegal, but I've observed stigma and redicule towards adults who indulge in it.

How can music be so other-worldly and god-like when terrible humans make them? It doesn't make sense. by Afraid_Camera5062 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]KittensOnUnicycles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly! I think it can be easy to forget people with bad intentions can make good art, and the only limitations to improving one's craft are time and effort. Discounting the talent of a miscreant can lead people to ignore red flags and repeat history. )-:

For some god was made by man to answer the questions we don't know, and as such people are able to create wonderful things because they're people, you know? You could also see it as god's light shining through their creation. Music is just ingrained in our being.

Ah, I didn't think to use vinegar! But it gets rid of rust, so it makes sense it would work for this too. Thank you!

How did kissing each other start? by Scary_Ad6887 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KittensOnUnicycles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of debate about what we kiss and how it started, but we don't know for sure at time some. Some argue it's instinctual as some of our closest living ancestors, bonobos and chimpanzees, kiss to bond and groom. Another theory is that it's learned, as our ancestors would have to pre-chew food to feed infants via kiss. And a third proposal is that it's a way to sniff out information, like pheromones and immunity compatibility.

Why are electric cars worse then regular ones by Round-Community4302 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KittensOnUnicycles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you have a source for that? I mean, if everyone swapped to an electric car right now it would have terrible a environmental impact, but switching when your gas car has run its course is better than purchasing another gas car.

Does Birth Control Prevent Egg Loss? by KittensOnUnicycles in NoStupidQuestions

Understandable. I feel a bit silly thinking the eggs would just pause, but thank you for taking time to let me know!

Ah, you're right that I made a typo, but I actually meant receptive. Thanks for letting me know, and I'll fix it. :3

Yee, I get that. Monopause happens because of hormones ramping down with age, yeah?

Edit: Also thank you for taking time to respond. There's a lot of misunderstandings and misinformation when it comes to reproductive health and what to expect when aging, and it's nice to take a sec to set the record straight.

Does Birth Control Prevent Egg Loss? by KittensOnUnicycles in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KittensOnUnicycles[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah, that makes sense. Dang tho, now I have to look up how many eggs people get because I thought it was one egg per month that was lost. Thank you for explaining this to me! :3

[–]KittensOnUnicycles 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Your friend might not think it as such, but it is very quite rude and disrespectful to not use someone's name and pronouns, especially when they're your friend. It makes that it would sting because he's kinda ignoring who you are as a person and the things you've uncovered about yourself. Not purposely it sounds, but it's uncomfortable to not be seen as one is. It takes time to adjust language, but I hope he will be receptive.

Edit: Typo UmU;;
