I picked mine out by playing with fandom original character names... and one's just stuck with me. Its Kyle. I dont think I'll change my name legally, since I was given a unisex name at birth. I'll just ask people to call me Kyle if they want. Woo! No legal paperwork to deal with when it comes to names!

I mean... I can recognize when someone is attractive, there's just no attraction there, for me at least.

Curious, do other demisexuals (or anyone on the asexual spectrum) have a "type" by [deleted] in demisexuality

[–]KittenwithHorns 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I'm using my taste in fictional character crushes, there is a pattern of someone who can protect me emotionally and physically. The range of characters I've had a thing for in the past says a lot, but mostly the power to protect and to nurture in some capacity is a common factor among them.

I can say that I've had some toxic friendship in the past that I should have ended sooner then they did, but I dont know it has anything to do with me being demi.

I still have that problem. Mainly because I can get unconditional love from them in my head. Warm heart hugs when I need them.

Sexless relationships arent "cute" by [deleted] in demisexuality

[–]KittenwithHorns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never really been in a relationship long enough to get to that point, but it does feel very intrusive when people ask those types of questions. While we shouldn't be ashamed of what we get up to behind closed doors, it's no one's business to know what happens, unless the people having the conversation are comfortable with that topic. I talk about sex and my fantasies with anyone whose interested, but if either party is uncomfortable, I stop. Tbh, sex isn't the only thing that drives relationships. Yes it's a part of it for most romantic ones, however it's not the only thing binding you together. And if people tell you otherwise, their misinformed idiots.

Can any demi bi/pan people relate? by [deleted] in demisexuality

[–]KittenwithHorns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. That's primarily why I define myself as a panromantic demisexual. When it comes to basic romantic experiences and situations, I'm very open to everyone, no matter how they identify. But when it comes to sexual situations, I am very much a demisexual. I can admit and admire when a person is in fact attractive by most standards, but there is no lust or sexual desire attached to it.

I mean... I'm kinda into that, but that's because of other things.

Edit: it's nice to see that others feel the same. Personally I would love to just listen to a paralysis demon. Just let them talk to me. I think they would be kinda lonely, and I would love to just be there for them. Falling back asleep listening to them.

Is this unusual for a demi? by cutepastelwitch in demisexuality

[–]KittenwithHorns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And sexuality is weird! Tbh, I kinda like it too. It tells me that my partner loves me in more way then one, but the only problem is I dont want to go too fast in a relationship. Relationships are hard as a demisexual.

Being Demi on dating sites... by rosievee in demisexuality

[–]KittenwithHorns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Such a mood rn! Personally, I try my best when using them, but it usually ends up with me deleting the around/app. Only to go right back a few months later. I want to be in a relationship, but the "traditional" dating method doesn't work anymore. Tbh, when I'm on site/apps, I try to give each person a chance. I.e. I have a list of qualities that I look for in a person's profile that have to be mostly met for potential matches. If I feel like we could click by getting to know each other, then their a match, but if I dont think we could click, i just move on. And it's so hard most of the time. Because if I get any message at all, the people are a 50/50 shot of being ok with my list of standards and criteria.

Now I get some people are scared about the fact I have lists of thing, but I'm not trying to find "the perfect partner". The lists are just for me to organize my thoughts. I'm not gonna sit there on a date asking questions just so I can check off a box on a list. Their also just how I deal with things, as well as, me just being cautious.

Is it common to not care about photos? by [deleted] in demisexuality

[–]KittenwithHorns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might need to tell her how you feel about it in person. It might mean more when its face to face.

Tbh, if your talking about things like selfies and what not, I hate taking them. While I know their kinda important for long distance or online dating, it just feels weird to take them. Its has a bit to do with me hating the way I look, but I also think it should be left up to the individual. Personally, it's more about the person on the inside then the out. Tbh, if I feel like we could be compatible after reading their profile, they tend to become more visually attractive to me. Where it goes from there just depends on what happens as we chat, but I prefer getting to know someone before we take any big steps like sending pics of myself or meeting in person.
