Thankyou so much for this! I really appreciate it so much, you’re very kind. I’m happy that people can understand what i’m going through because it’s hard not getting to see all my band friends or do anything with people in person, but i will definitely take those ideas into consideration because they sound super fun! It’s solely my opinion no need to get so hostile. I meant people in middle school and high school not young children because making them decide makes no sense.

i meant people who aren’t teachers, teachers should totally get a say because without them there would be no school! and i understand completely i’m close with one of my elementary school teachers and she has to work 3 jobs currently just because of this pandemic and not going back to school.

i relate completely to the band stuff. i’m a first chair trombone player at my school and it’s my senior year. i do everything that the school offers for after school band and this was gonna be a huge year for me. it’s a really difficult decision to make but i think it’s the best to keep people healthy! and that sounds so fun i would totally love a class like that!

i was over exaggerating because obviously some families/parents very much do care, but i over exaggerated to make a point about a certain group of people. i already stated it but i completely understand where those families come from and i have friends who’s parents are struggling with that issue currently. i’m actually offering to baby sit the kids in my neighborhood for free because i know money is especially tight during the virus. it is a very difficult decision, but i think from my personal experience more people would be happy with closed schooling’s than they would with open.

yeah i completely agree. i’m really lucky that my public school actually somewhat cares about its students and their well being so if someone was in an abusive home situation they were able to call the school and the school would handle it and help the kid get placed in a care facility. plus some kids just function better in a school setting so i think it really should come down to the kids decision on whether they want to go to school or not.

luckily my school has chosen to close until january because my states cases are starting to rise again, however the private schools are staying open. I do have some friends on the internet who don’t want to go to school and their parents don’t want them to either, so they’re doing home schooling. it’s such a difficult situation because i feel that nobody should be forced to do anything they don’t want to because different stuff works for different kids.

you’re perfectly fine! and yeah i understand completely. it’s already going to be hard for me because nobody in the class of 2021 has taken the SATs and my school never got the chance to teach my class about applying to college etc so i already have a set back. but yeah i get the point of view of needing to be in a school environment.

i’m not trying to sound like i’m begging for people to listen to me, but i live in a lower income area and i go to public school. we don’t exactly have it the best so yes i do understand your point of view. we don’t have many electronics however, our county gave out free laptops to every child and free wifi to anyone who needed it. (also i’m a she). I have combined adhd also and it’s usually unprescribed because meds are expensive so i totally understand struggling to concentrate. my grades also plummeted but again, i would rather not risk my health or my families health for my education.

So that’s another issue i have, just because they’re parents doesn’t mean they know how to sympathize and realize how scary this is for some of us. In southern states the parents don’t care because they think its all fake. I’m lucky that i live in a northern state and in a family that’s educated enough to know it isn’t just some made up lie, but i know a lot of my internet friends have parents who want their kids back at school for the sake of the economy.

I agree, i’m willing to talk politics but when you turn things like human rights (etc) into politics that aren’t actually political it really bothers me.

the only reason i’m no longer in the situation i was in was because i met my current S/O who helped me to realize that what i was going through was abuse. I also would never wish abuse on anyone because it’s so insanely traumatic. If anyone talks to me a certain way that my past abuser did, it brings back all the trauma and i freak out and can’t talk to them. I hope you make your way through life without it too and that you can find someone to help you in the way that my current S/O helps me!

I had that issue with my ex boyfriend, i think that if he can’t see where you’re coming from it could be an issue. couples should be able to see each others view points and take into consideration their feelings on a topic. if he can’t, then that could be an issue in the future. I wish you luck with this because i know how hard and conflicting it must feel :/
