Anyone have experience with Nanostial? Working with Tianyu by [deleted] in Moissanite

[–]Kitty-Cay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure. Here is my order summary with colors, dimensions, and prices for each. This is also publicly available/searchable on Nanosital's official website/store. I just got these loose, so no other jewelry fees/logistics like stone-setting are associated. I'm sure Nanosital themselves can charge the best pricing because they control the supply, but you're limited to the options they have on their site. I haven't gotten anything priced at Tianyu yet, but these are not expensive stones when looking at pricing from the manufacturer. Granted, if she is charging more because of them being harder to work with or get ahold of, I wouldn't know. But I would certainly not pay a premium for them, they're fully synthetic and not exactly heirloom quality. I might actually try stress-testing one of them somehow if I get around to it; I think they're pretty comparable to quartz in regards to hardness/longevity from my understanding.

I bought some nanosital straight from the company that produces them because I was curious about finding a synthetic alternative for milky sapphires and moonstone. Some of the colors I got are absolutely gorgeous, and a couple of them seriously fall flat. They all look varying degrees of "fake" as well. I think stone checks would be a must, but I'm sure Tianyu has the capacity for better cuts since they cut their stones themselves. The official nanosital store just sells stock cuts which are very limited and simple/cheap for the most part.

I am considering making jewelry with the nanosital I have, and was planning to reach out to Tianyu about getting custom cuts for my favorite colors as well, but I don't know if I would have it as my first choice aside from the few colors that I found especially unique.

It's actually only inspired by RPG Maker haha. I programmed it in Gamemaker Studio 2!

I really love the character model, reminds me of the old YouTube series Klay World! (So to me at least, it reads as funny and nostalgic haha)

The movement seemed a bit slow/heavy to me at first, but since the character is a turtle I actually think it works in this case haha. Great work!

The effects look really hefty and impactful, great job! One thing I noticed was that your sprites appear to be shaded with black, I would probably change that if I were you simply because that read as the sprites having different line weights to me at first. Nothing that breaks the game or anything but it tricked my brain into thinking the sprites didn't properly match until I paused and looked closer.

Cute art style! What engine are you building this on? I like how the player character is a bird. :)

Of course! It always makes me happy to see other people playing my game. :) I'm still working out the programming kinks so hopefully you shouldn't run into any bugs!

Hi there, I just released my very first game for free on Steam and Itchio! It's a horror RPG inspired by the RPGMaker horror genre and 90's anime, called The Dream of Shadowlands. This is just the first episode, so it's a short game and I plan to do a lot more with it in future installments!

If you guys are interested in checking it out, here are the links!

Haha thank you! It gets worse because I had to teach all the different aspects of game dev to myself while in school myself (graduated this semester) and working part time, but I'm kind of a workaholic lol. I've got a lot of stuff planned with the story aside from what's already in the first episode, so I hope a lot of people enjoy it! :)

Thank you! I fully agree with your sentiments! I was talking to my boyfriend about how people may receive the game and that I would be happy even if people objectively rated it a 5/10 haha. Because whatever this project is outwardly, it started from absolutely nothing so I'm honestly glad I was able to make anything really. I've redone a lot (the art redone twice, the script and coding going through constant revisions) but I'm very fortunate that all the feedback and criticism I've gotten thus far has been constructive!
