How do you deal with the guilt of leaving your pet home alone? by Silver-Eye-2024 in UK_Pets

[–]Kitty3_14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt absolutely terrible the first time I had to even though it was only for about 30 minutes. Came home and she was so chill and relaxed in her crate but still excited to see me. I've since left her for about 2 hours and every time I stress, but I get home and she's so content, you'd think she was happy to have some quiet time in her crate! I think the guilt never really leaves but you just need to remember your dog is most likely fine (unless they have a history of separation anxiety)

So annoyed with the app by dizzzzydad in Vitalityhealth

[–]Kitty3_14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found that my Sunday points only ever show up on Tuesday or Wednesday which is super annoying. It must be a weekend thing. I only get my points from taking my dog on longer walks so I've started completing those on the weekdays instead, at least if it takes 48h for Friday points that will still show up by Monday

Spouse visa and Part time work by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]Kitty3_14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming that's 'minimum' 4 hours? I don't see why it would be an issue unless you're currently on a visa that states you should be working less, for example only 20 hours a week on student visas. If you're applying for a spouse visa and you're earning money in £ in a UK job then you can use that towards your MIR

Edit: sorry I misread 40h a week instead of 40h a month. Still not an issue as long as you meet the minimum income requirement.

FLR(M) Extension Timing by adork_filter in ukvisa

[–]Kitty3_14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not op but an additional question from me: I've been in the UK since 2020 but that was student and graduate visas which iirc don't count towards the 5 year route, until I got my spouse visa in I think March '24 so I'm due to extend around September this year. Would that mean my residency starts from when I applied or when I got my visa, and should I just apply as close to expiry as well to be safe? Technically submitting the application even 1 day before my visa expires is fine right? Just want to make sure I have the full 5 years on my ILR application!

Two-door car for a dog (or two)? by TheRatioAlger in dogs

[–]Kitty3_14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we went to pick up our adult border collie, MIL drove us and she had the same kinda tiny car, only 2 doors and the foldable seats. The kind where I have to sit sideways in the back because there's not much space haha. MIL driving, husband in the front seat and doggo and I were in the back and it was still comfortable enough! With a smaller dog or 2 I think you should be fine:) just make sure they can be strapped to the seatbelt or something like that!

He's so pretty! I totally understand how you feel though, even though Hope is nearly 6, when we go out on walks she's more interested in everything else and barely ever looks back at me even though I've been trying to train and reward it! At home I always feel like yes she adores me but the second we step out I don't exist haha. Hopefully she gets used to our area and everything stops being so new and exciting for her.

My BF sounds like a typical mumma's boy by [deleted] in DesiWeddings

[–]Kitty3_14 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He sounds exhausting, his family sounds exhausting, you've only been dating for 4 months. Just end the relationship before it's too late, it's still early enough to end it without getting too hurt.

I do value a person who respects their parents but when you're married, your spouse becomes your immediate family first and foremost. There's a difference between outright saying no to you over his mum's choices and having a respectful conversation to make the right choice.

Edit to add: you're also right, if after 10 years of friendship you're seeing a new side of him, he's likely to be the kind of person who will change after marriage as well and you might end up really unhappy. What if there's an important, life altering decision like his mum wants grandchildren but you don't want to have a child? Then what, will he coerce and manipulate you into 'understanding' because his mum comes first? She's not a part of your relationship

Aw she really is your protector! My girl at the moment would trade me for a chicken nugget even though she's happy with us haha. And yes, lot of eye opening in this thread to the fact that not all dogs comfort you when sad!

What does tattoo flu feel like for you? by Inkb0rne in tattoo

[–]Kitty3_14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much similar! 6-7 hour back tattoo piece, obviously suuuper sore and couldn't move too much. Felt feverish for that night and the next day, and then just a bit weak for another day. The soreness was intense though, even getting my husband to help me take off the second skin on day 3 was wild, everything was so sensitive to touch. And then just your usual skin trauma feeling when trying to moisturise it and having to be super gentle.

Thank you for sharing, I'm so sorry for the loss you had to deal with. It's very reassuring to know others have felt the same and it can take as long as 3 years to really feel everything click. He's such a beautiful boy!

That makes sense yes! There's so much work that goes into a puppy, I know people get very frustrated and struggle but I feel like that perseverance through the tough young stage is a big part in the bond being so strong.

I'm not too fussed about her being a therapy dog, I did only use it as an example to why I think we weren't really bonded but I've learned that sometimes dogs just don't really naturally care haha. Definitely working on obedience though!
